Man in Gray

When I heard that NYC band Man in Gray were playing their last show ever this Thursday night (June 19) at the Delancey, I asked them if they would consider playing their second-to-last show at Rock n ROFL at Pianos on Wednesday night (TONIGHT). It would be opening for the Futureheads. They said yes.

June 18, 2008 @ Pianos

8pm - comedy by Mike Birbiglia, Dave Hill & others
9pm - Man in Gray (2nd to last show)
10pm - The Futureheads

FREE Kronenbourg beer all night (while supplies last)

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

Aw, I love these guys and shared a stage a few times with them firstly at a birthday show I had some years back -- I'm sure they'll all move into other great musical entities (and Bryan takes awesome pix).

MAN IN GARY FOREVER!!!!

George, maybe it's just me, but that sounds a lil homoerotic.

saw them play a few years ago at Houlihan's in providence at one of the first 75 or less records showcases...they could probably do better than the delancey for a final show, no?

bummer in a way that Man in Gray is breaking up. They weren't very good songwriters but did always made up for it with a great live show. cheers man in gray for doing what you did

Man In Gray was actually somewhat impressive....and the Futureheads were dope, doppleganger and all.

Saw them last night and they sounded great on that stage - pity it was so small, the singer looked penned in. May try to see them again tonight.

Man in Gray are awesome people and a ferocious band. The first time my band played with them they stuck around to check us out and do some ass shaking up at the front, even though we missed their set. Since then we've had a chance to see them quite a few times and I gotta say that they played every damn show at full throttle(I was also impressed with their ability to figure out their setlist minutes before taking the stage). They are just top notch folks. To give them some backhanded compliment is lame.

And yes, the phrase "Man in Gary" is super homoerotic. I wanna sleep with every last one of those hairy dudes.

i have their album and i actually prefer that to their live shows. and yes, they are top, top people.

Man in Gray are (or were) some really good people. Too bad that their shows have lots of energy but little musicality and their album is somewhere between meh and unlistenably awful. But they are good people.
