The Hawk is Howling is the sixth studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Mogwai, expected to be released on September 22, 2008 through Wall of Sound, Play It Again Sam, and Matador in the UK, Europe, and the USA, respectively. That's the Wikipedia info on their new album obviously, but Mogwai also just reissued their first album from 1997, Young Team, as a two-disc (and quadruple vinyl box set) deluxe edition. The old cover and the new cover are above. The deluxe tracklist is below. The album was recorded in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire at Chem19 Studios with producer Andy Miller, whom the band had previously worked with on their early releases from 1997--1998. Mogwai recorded the album from September 2007 to February 2008, mixing the album in March with Garth Jones at the band's own Castle of Doom Studios in Glasgow. [Wikipedia]

Young Team is such a great album. But I can't believe Mogwai are headlining Terminal 5...

So sayeth the deaf douche moron. This guy is the reason why Bowery is getting away with a crap venue like Terminal 5. What a fucking idiot. Are you kidding me? Every band that is playing ATP is playing at a shit crap venue in NYC. Thank god i got tickets for ATP. The shows there are going to be so much better(more intimate and better sounding). This guy above is ridiculous.

For all the gripes Webster Hall gets for it's sound, the place never sounded better than when Mogwai played there those two nights a while back. Totally gave me faith that the venue actually has great sound. Terminal 5, not my favorite, but it's Mogwai so I'll definitely be there

People complain about Webster Halls sound? Mogwai blew that place up.. didn't even come close to selling that place out not sure why they are getting upgraded to Terminal-sickness 5.
The freakin' retarded thing is Explosions in the sky sold out T5 and Mogwai won't.

Fuck Buttons (another ATP band) are opening for Mogwai at Terminal 5.
Posted by brooklynvegan | June 4, 2008 12:11 AM
With their insane loud shows, the worst venues for them to play would be Terminal 5 and Roseland. I can't imagine how muddy this will sound. Why not return to Irving Plaza?
Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2008 12:18 AM
mogwai showed sigur ros how to cry!
Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2008 12:26 AM
if they play terminal 5, we'll be paying to hear them, not see them - those sight lines are awful.
Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2008 12:28 AM
you just suck loudly, fuck buttons.

this might be the dumbest T5 booking of all time.
yeah, irving plaza summer 01, warsaw summer 02 and fall o3, webster hall... too bad they're going to the room where guitars go to die.

i was at that brownies show...amazing time and an amazing band...im just recently rediscovering my love of mogwai and arab strap...awesome stuff.

Mogwai are overrated. I like the idea of this band, their loud, spacey musical style, but their execution of said musical style is pretty luke-warm.

brownies used to be the most drugged up after hours place around....just walking by it used to make me have to poop.
Posted by Leo the Bandana | June 4, 2008 9:37 AM
oh no, not the Fuck Buttons!
Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2008 9:46 AM
all you ATP haters are going to bite your tongue when they announce the remaining 8 bands. and think of it this way....
$52+ My Bloody Valentine
$32+ Built to Spill/Dino Jr/Meat Puppets
$25+ Mogwai
$15+ Polvo
not to mention FUCKIN yo la tengo ($25+ ticket) and mercury rev
that is already about $200 worth of music and that is only 8 of the 30 band.
you retards need to get out of the city more anyhow.
keep hating!

I hate my job, if that's what you mean, but sadly I have to pay rent and buy food. It must be nice not to have to.

I saw Mogwai with Ganger at the Troubadour in LA years back. Amazing show. One of the loudest shows i've ever seen. Ganger was another amazing band.
