Yes!!!!!!! Finally I'll be ringing in 2009 with My Morning Jacket. This will defiantly sell out just like Radio City months in advance.

Posted by Pedro | June 12, 2008 12:17 PM

I hate the idea of planning my new years in June.

Posted by anonymous2 | June 12, 2008 12:26 PM

BONER! In the good, "I can't hide my wood for this" kind of way.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:28 PM

is morning jacket the new phish?

can we throw another awesome band in there - i missed out on the wilco/flips show in 2004

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:32 PM

"I hate the idea of planning my new years in June."

Agreed. It's getting annoying that you have to commit to a show upwards of 5 to 6 months in advance in order to get tix.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:32 PM

sell out? you're tripping balls buddy
another half empty night at MSG just like new years with black crowes

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:40 PM

ha, no fucking way buddy this will sell out. and they better add some good opening bands.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:43 PM

ah yeah, the 2004 wilco/flips show was amazing. i got 3rd row center at 8pm the night of for 60 bucks.

Posted by kyle | June 12, 2008 12:44 PM

i thought i read somewhere that yo la tengo and m. ward were opening this show...

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:45 PM

even wilco and flips didnt sell it out - will be surprised if they do -

i assume they announce it now to avoid some of the scalping for their radio city show next week -

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:50 PM

You bozos, this show will not sell out at all. Are you crazy? It is new years eve plus this show is only a few months after their big show at Radio City.

Overkill

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:50 PM

"another half empty night at MSG just like new years with black crowes"

Of course this will sell out.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:51 PM

sold out or not, who gives a shit.

it will still rock.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:53 PM

this will be the show of the year. well, probably 2nd show of the year after negative approach - just kidding hardcore sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 12:57 PM

mmj is the new phish guys.

new album is HORRIBLES!

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:00 PM

How come Paramore playing Central Park on 8/28 isn't posted on BV?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:06 PM

casue Paramore suck balls?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:17 PM

1:17,

Either way, other ball-sucking bands get their concerts posted on BV. Why can't BV be an equal opportunity provider of coverage for ball-sucking bands?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:21 PM

this is wierd....I can't believe these guys are that big, but then again I can.

New album has some weak points, but also some really big momenets that will be incredible live

Posted by ebc | June 12, 2008 1:24 PM

because BV doesn't cover shit like Jonas Brothers or avril lavigne either. that's the crowd paramore is in.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:25 PM

I have 2 questions:

1. Who keeps posting comments about Paramore?

2. What the fuck is wrong with you?

Posted by Beeeeve | June 12, 2008 1:25 PM

Paramore is more of a warped tour band. BV has posted about My Chemical Romance before, why not Paramore?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:32 PM

1:32, Paramore is Disney-rock that nobody over the age of 14 with any sense of taste or musical scope gives a shit about. the lead singer is hot though.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:37 PM

MMJ sold out Radio City in about 2 minutes? Should take about 5 minutes to sell out MSG. And tickets are relatively cheap by New Years Eve in New York City standards.

Posted by drewo | June 12, 2008 1:38 PM

Bv could you tell me when hannah montana is coming back to town?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:38 PM

I thought I had read somewhere that Yo La Tengo and M. Ward would be opening for MMJ at the Garden. Does anyone know any truth about that?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:40 PM

The hate (towards Paramore posters) grows deep inside me. Must now listen to Maiden and smash things...

Posted by Beeeeve | June 12, 2008 1:40 PM

avril is way better than paramore.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:41 PM

paramore is the ish
no lie
dead up
no sarcasm
thank you poster for telling me cuz i didn't know either
i'll so be going there even if i am the only one that isn't hot topic cladded
yes yes
i know
but i'll be urban outfitter cladded
which is way worst
right?
cuz the new emo is hipster

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 1:57 PM

wait is it summer stage and free or like a 50 bux event?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:01 PM

It will take a lot longer than 5 min for them to sell out MSG. It might not even sell out at all because it is on NYE.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:04 PM

Don't forget Sleater-Kinny on that Wilco/FLips New Year's bill. That triple threat shan't be topped in our lifetimes.

Posted by Tito | June 12, 2008 2:09 PM

1:57,

I think Jack's Mannequin will be at that show as well (main reason I'm going).

1:37,

It appears that you are all-knowing professor of taste. Is it cool if I email you a list of every band in my iTunes and you can then either approve or disapprove?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:10 PM

"It might not even sell out at all because it is on NYE."

Yeah, beacuse no one goes out on NYE.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:20 PM

2:10 how much? or free?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:21 PM

2:21,

Not sure, it's def. not a free show. I'd wager $30-35 plus charges.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:24 PM

why is paramore being discussed here?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:24 PM

2:24,

Because it was mentioned earlier that they are playing Summerstage and some people find that news noteworthy (for better or worse) and, as such, a discussion has begun.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:39 PM

paramore. great band? or greatest band?

Posted by bobby the rook | June 12, 2008 2:58 PM

paramore is opening for my morning jacket on new year's eve at the garden...

...sure to be the crappiest way to ring in '09.

Posted by reliable source | June 12, 2008 3:06 PM

haha i wouldn't say greatest but hell they're catchy and the singer is a lil spit fire
but ii'm not sure if'll go for 30 so perhaps i'll just stand at the big rock and watch or hear

i remember i thought they were playing at soundfix once but it turned to be a lil cali band with name similiar who i then realized i saw before and liked at a tilly and the wall show

yo my morning jacket is famous?!
when did this happen?
holy crap! good for them

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 3:16 PM

they suck- what a waste of MSG on new years

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 3:42 PM

Ah, sounds like a few people's dance punk and electroclash outfits didn't make the splash they expected.

go jacket go!

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 4:09 PM

should i go?

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 4:36 PM

my boring jacket.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 4:44 PM

Who said you have to plan your New Year's Eve months in advance? If you don't want to buy tickets now, then don't!

Wish I would be able to visit NY for NYE, I'd be @ that show in a second. I was at their NYE show in SF a couple years ago and it's still one of the greatest shows I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Take advantage of this gift and go to the show, you won't be sorry.

Posted by eli | June 12, 2008 5:30 PM

I'll be sorry if I have to go to that show.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 7:25 PM

well, you certainly sound like the sorry type.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 7:31 PM

anon 3:16, you're thinking of Palomar

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 8:05 PM

Yeah, if the Wilco/Flips didn't sell out the Garden, I can't see MMJ doing it. But here's the thing: Who gives a fat frog's ass??? It will still be incredible regardless. And, personally, I love knowing what I'm doing on NYE in June. I guess I'm not that spontaneous.

PS. I can't wait for Friday at Radio City.

Posted by Anonymous | June 16, 2008 3:23 PM

MMJ is one of the more influential bands in America right now. Whether Hanson or some big named band opens for them, it doesn't matter. MMJ has exposed themselves, and is gaining popularity faster than most weeds grow. Anyways props to ppl who actually have a good taste in music.

Posted by Anonymous | June 16, 2008 10:12 PM

mmj @ 'roo '06 & '08 kicked ass, picked up the cmj sampler way back in 2003 and have not turned my back on them since

going to radio city on friday & buying my nye tix next week

these guys are great when it comes to there own shit & covers!

paramore = bleeding ear drums, avril on speed & cookie cutter pop chart z100 crap - why are they even brought up on a site like this?

and for all those who haven't had the blessing of mmj live, don't knock it 'till you try it

Posted by Jessica | June 18, 2008 9:53 PM
