Odeath on a roof

Odeath on a roof

Not all of the "Rooftop Films" are actually on roofs. Last night (June 12, 2008) the show happened in the field at a high school right next to McCarren Park. The musical guest O'Death played for about 30 minutes. Then there were a whole bunch of short movies. A.R.E. Weapons plays one in Manhattan tonight. More pictures from last night below....

i would have gone but when i stopped by sound fix to find out where it was, the guy didn't know.
i thought they sponsored it. he handed me a web address. which really helped me (sarcasm) because i came all the way from SI and am not one of you lil richies that has an iphone and/or laptop.
you think the guy could have just told me where it was. hurts to know i was do close.
love those guys

wow, that really really must hurt, you were so close, and yet never made it to the show. I cannot even imagine what a bad feeling that must be.

i loved this event! and it was fucking cheap!

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 12:17 PM

It was a great show, so what if it wasn't on a roof; I don't think people felt deceived by the company name or denied the privilege of sitting on a roof. O'Death was awesome, and so were most of the films.

Big up!

it was cool how the band was friends with the filmmaker and gave a shout out! cool music/film event

yeah wish i could have found it.
i had the same problem at sound fix.
clueless sponsors, i guess

o'death need to hit the gym if they're going to continue to parade around without their shirts on.

good band, just don't wanna see that shit floppin' around.

the booking people at sound fix are the ones who deal with the sponsorship, not the record clerks! but yeah, they should make sure everyone knows about it, for real

"the booking people at sound fix are the ones who deal with the sponsorship, not the record clerks! but yeah, they should make sure everyone knows about it, for real"

Glory at Sea was reeeeealllly self indulgent.

If you're going to drive all the way from Staten Island for a show, shouldn't you find out where exactly the show is before you go? Jesus.

I agree with the shit flopping around - no one wants to see that

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 3:59 PM

O'Death was nuts and their fans were nuttier.

Glory at Sea might be totally self indulgent and a bit heavy handed, but it's still very pretty.

Hey--Sorry to the guy who couldn't find the show. I think most of the core Sound Fix folks were over at the show. We will put up posters at soundfix with directions in a few days. But send me an email and I will get you two free tickets to any Rooftop Films show you want this summer--just email me at dan * at * rooftopfilms * dot * com. Of course, O'death won't be there, but we have a lot of other great shows, so hopefully there will be something to your liking.

What's the over/under for the number of people who e-mail Dan claiming to be Anon. 6/13 11:51 AM?
