2 nights at United Palace which is huge. There will not be the same kind of ticket frenzy you saw this week. Probably will be able to get them for less than face the night of the show. So RELAX you nuts.

These shows by venue alone could not possibly be as good as MOMA which was certainly not as good as Manhattan Center.

Posted by A Manhattan Not Brooklyn Asshole | June 19, 2008 10:42 AM

the lack of a Philly date has me so steamed!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 10:45 AM

yeah but the seats and the sound in the balcony are awful.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 10:45 AM

is there a presale password?

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 10:49 AM

if there's no free booze and posters, whats the point of going

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 10:51 AM

Saw The National/Arcade Fire at the united palace and thought the sound and sight lines were terrific. Although it is a large(r) room, it feels pretty intimate. Very excited for these shows as well as the Boston one which is a very intimate outdoor venue right on the water.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 10:52 AM

"Bank Of America Pavilion" is intimate? I'm not questioning you because I've never been there, but the name is deceiving.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 10:58 AM

BROOKLYN VEEGAN, WHY MUST YOU POST ABOUT "SECRET" PRESALES POSTED ON THE BAND'S .COM WEBSITE? PRESALES ARE FOR THE FANS!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 11:00 AM

saw radiohead play there a few years ago. had to pay like $25 bucks to park my car down the street, walk in the rain, it's okay and defintely a nice enviornment. shouldnt' be too cold in september i hope.

Posted by Brian | June 19, 2008 11:01 AM

and of course you can't be a fan if you dont check the website of every band you every loved, every second of every day.

move on.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 11:01 AM

Presale password is 4lg6qw

Posted by Barry | June 19, 2008 11:03 AM

The word intimate is really becoming the new "killed" on here. There is absolutely nothing about United Palace or Bank of America Pavillion that is intimate.

This is getting out of hand.

Anon 11am. Calm Down you stupid fuck. There has not been one show at United Palace yet that I or any of my friends have not been able to walk up the night of the show, even if it is sold out, and bought a ticket for less than the ticket price.

Posted by A Manhattan Not Brooklyn Asshole | June 19, 2008 11:05 AM

You have to visit the fan website to find out a very important detail which is missing from this post -- the time the presale starts.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 11:05 AM

Radiohead never played United Palace you idiot.

Posted by jables | June 19, 2008 11:08 AM

no, but the they did play BOA. so, who's the idiot with poor reading comprehension?

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 11:13 AM

I'm on the Sigur Ros email list, and I didn't receive an email about this presale, so I appreciate the post, BV!

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 11:14 AM

Check your spam filter. The mailing list announced it this morning.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 11:16 AM

RED ROCKS!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 12:16 PM

From the other post so now EVERYONE knows. Take that Anon 11:05am

presale starts tmrw on www.klink.is at 9am nyc time

Posted by darren | June 19, 2008 12:05 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 12:24 PM

United Palace is great if you're on the floor, not even worth going if you're in the balcony. You can't hear or see a thing.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 12:33 PM

Vivian Girls are opening!

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 12:58 PM

it's very quiet here! i guess everyone is giving it a rest till we can all bitch or gloat about getting tickets or not tomorrow.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 2:03 PM

11AM here. i don't normally waste my time trolling on the internet, but it's just so easy to stir people up on BV.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2008 2:33 PM

gah thursday night is Mogwai at T5. going to be a busy week.

Posted by butternuts | June 19, 2008 2:38 PM

You're right butternuts - like my old boss used to say "business is better than no business".

Now if we can just get GYBE to reunite and play Celebrate Brooklyn. I'd sit in the rain for that, like I did for Richard Thomason last year.

$3 is better than $20, you leftover MoMA fucks!

Posted by Spike | June 19, 2008 3:45 PM

I got my email last night.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 7:22 AM

^I read your email last night

Posted by Kevin Mitnick | June 20, 2008 7:40 AM

I have video of you reading his email...busted!

I got the page to load just now. Not on sale as of 9:07

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 8:58 AM

Worst site ever. I'd rather deal with Ticketmaster than this amateur bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 8:58 AM

I can't get on anything and ticketmaster isn't showing any dates in NYC at all.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 8:58 AM

this is some bullshit

Posted by maitai | June 20, 2008 8:58 AM

no one can get to the site! I HATE THIS SHIT.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 8:59 AM

this really sucks. its 9:08 and still nothing. The page wont even load and when it did after like 5 minutes the show wasn't listed. Too many people are trying to get in and the sites just confused i bet.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:00 AM

i just got in and scored 4 tix.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:00 AM

lame

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:00 AM

maybe b/c they made all their dates countrywide available at 9am EST.

dumb much?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:00 AM

nah just kidding

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:00 AM

Front Row!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:01 AM

"the sites just confused"?????

It does not have a brain - sort of like you.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:01 AM

They have tickets for about 15 pre-sales on at once. Stupid.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:01 AM

^ sure

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:01 AM

just got through... still not on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:02 AM

ughhhh...this is awful!!! WTF??!?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:03 AM

Just got 2.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:03 AM

I'm getting through -- still not sale.
Ridiculous.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:03 AM

This is fucking ridiculous.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:03 AM

Just got 12 front row. Just kidding. THEY ARE STILL NOT ON SALE YET.

Posted by Adam | June 20, 2008 9:04 AM

this is total BS!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:04 AM

either get a bigger server or only do ONE show per day....this is outrageous!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

Got through, but i ended up with radiohead tickets, site is really fucked.

Posted by blah | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

I think I'd rather deal with Ticketmaster than this. Ughhh.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

looks like the bands's main webpage is on the same server. did they build this ticket site themselves??

amateur hour.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

alright, does anybody else think that maybe this presale was a total hoax?

Posted by wha? | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

wow, crybabies. its not like no one knows. BV kinda made sure everyone in Brooklyn heard of this presale.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

it's not bullshit. you know what's bullshit? 500,000 people refreshing the fuck out of a website at the same time. that's why it's crashing, you cro-magnons.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:05 AM

i can't wait to get through, only to have it crash during the purchase.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:06 AM

still only the 4 euro shows are up

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:06 AM

maybe the admins are locked as well.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:07 AM

of course everyone is refreshing it's past the time of the presale

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:08 AM

I JUST HAD TO BUY SOMETHING TO SOMEWHERE!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:08 AM

sold out

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:08 AM

Not on sale for me either. Ugh MOMA early, this is late... Does this have to do with Sigur Ros' sense of time?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:08 AM

I'm so pissed. I'm not going to be home in the next half hour. COME ON.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:08 AM

at 9:18 tickets were not on sale yet...

Posted by Qbertplaya | June 20, 2008 9:09 AM

got 2!

Posted by maitai | June 20, 2008 9:10 AM

you're all on the wrong site, tickets are on sale here: www.sugarray.com/

Posted by blah | June 20, 2008 9:10 AM

Someone on the Sigur Ros board just posted that maybe the administrators are also locked out. I liked that idea...

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:11 AM

got 2 for toronto, but it's sort of fucked. does not say WHERE your tickets are. All I got was "2 reserved seats- balcony".
Balcony? already?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:11 AM

people who say they are getting tickets...how?! i dont even see the shows when the page poorly loads!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:11 AM

on sale now...and yes looks like every step is timing out

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:11 AM

MY GF JUST GOT THROUGH AND BOUGHT 4 TIX.

for real, no lie. keep trying guys!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:12 AM

fwiw, once i got the chance to buy tickets, the site moved very smoothly- no crashes.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:12 AM

Are these tickets all general admission?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:13 AM

got 2 tix for one nyc show, now can't get back on for other night.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:13 AM

does it help to have multiple windows trying to load the page? i haven't gotten through for 20 min...

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:13 AM

How much are the tickets on Klink anyway? I'm beginning to think I'm better off waiting for the regular sale on Ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:14 AM

got two for the first nyc night. $114 for the two with handling charges. once the site loaded, everything else loaded quickly.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:14 AM

where the hell are the seats?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:14 AM

got 4 tickets at about 921 am

keep trying!!!!
so psyched

Posted by Brian | June 20, 2008 9:14 AM

just got through... keep at it...

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:15 AM

just got 2 for boston. again, it doesn't tell you where the seats are, just says "reserved seats". hopefully they'll treat the people well who stuck it out through all the timeouts. also, they are more expensive than the most expensive ticketmaster seats ($40 vs $35) so hopefully they'll be nice...

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:15 AM

yup, after refreshing for about 20 minutes, got in, bought 2 tix. You don't get to know where your ticket is, but that was true last time I got tix from them through their pre-sale system and they ended up being super-sweet tix, so don't worry..

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:16 AM

Got 4 tix for Sep 18th.
They just say "reserved seats", no seat number...

has anyone been to a show (Bjork?) at United Palace Theater where it was just reserved seats with no seat number?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:16 AM

I have it on authority that the NYC shows are being sponsored by Southwest Airlines. All seats are first come, first serve - courtesy of Southwest.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:17 AM

boston was $40 each and got two tickets for $92 after fees. everything on the site loaded quickly after adding them to my cart.

Posted by jason | June 20, 2008 9:17 AM

got tics.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:18 AM

It doesn't say where the tix are! Weird.

Posted by Tito | June 20, 2008 9:18 AM

Alright. Tickets scored. Can calm down now.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:19 AM

got 2 for Weds- confirmation email doesn't have seat location either.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:19 AM

NOTHING... my liiiiiiiiiiiife

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:20 AM

Thank you thank you thank you 9:15 AM!!! I owe you a drink. Got tickets with that and the other page still said not on sale. I helped people here realize the Grand Ballroom wasn't sold out if they kept refreshing, so I guess it is good karma.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:20 AM

sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:20 AM

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:28 AM

"presales for the american and canadian dates will start tomorrow morning (friday june 20th) at 9am new york time on klink.is. general ticket sales (aswell as a separate presale if you have the password) will be on ticketmaster.com over the next few days and weeks."

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:28 AM

$50 a ticket. i thought sigur were progressive sociealists.

maybe that's why their site is managed like whack

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:28 AM

Just kidding. Ticketmaster said 6/27 for general sale last week. God. The stress that site just put me through fucked me up.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:28 AM

If sold out, keep trying to hit refresh. Worked for me with Grand Ballroom... Good luck. I think only presale is sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:28 AM

Oh wacky icelandic ticket merchants, your bumbling efforts to sell me merchandise amuses me.

Posted by sophie | June 20, 2008 9:30 AM

I just bought 2 for Boston. Did anyone else who got through get any kind of confirmation besides the one page yet? Something like and email or something with more info?

Posted by gk128 | June 20, 2008 9:32 AM

BOA Pavilion beats the pants off United Palace.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:35 AM

I just got the email... damn slow site. Now to play the waiting game.

Posted by gk128 | June 20, 2008 9:37 AM

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:37 AM

LA
SOLD OUT

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:38 AM

LA presale sold out

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:38 AM

once you added to cart, klink.is redirected you to sandbag.uk.com, who processed the transaction relatively smoothly. interesting way to throttle traffic - have everyone fight to get through the first server, but for those who get through, fewer chances of crapping out in the middle of a purchase.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:40 AM

email confirmation came almost immediately after I purchased mine.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:41 AM

for the love of pete, I still can't get in!!!

Posted by B | June 20, 2008 9:41 AM

If the presale sells out does that mean the show is sold out?

Posted by lady | June 20, 2008 9:42 AM

NEW YORK IS BACK ON SALE!!!!!!!! is what I would say if there was any justice in this world. Grand Ballroom, MOMA, now this. the interwebs hate me. but I will persist. don't you worry. in the name of long, made-up language, falsetto laden songs by a bunch of skinny icelandic dudes and their backing strings and marching band fiesta. I will persist.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:44 AM

fuckin internet

Comcast's a bitch

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:45 AM

"If the presale sells out does that mean the show is sold out?"

please, just reread your question. christ.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 9:46 AM
