Sigur Ros - a medical scare, Bonnaroo (videos, pics & setlist) +++ NYC tonight & tomorrow

Sigur Ros @ Bonnaroo 2008 (cred)
Sigur Ros @ Bonnaroo

Sigur Ros had a little scare at a show before Bonnaroo...

...Orri is by now in the back of an ambulance at side of stage, with a drip going in one arm, and a blood pressure test on the other. It is very, very worrying. Everyone is in a state of shock. It is clear Orri will take no further part in tonight, so we get a setlist and attempt to work out what songs can be played without a drummer. It's not many. We settle on five, most of which were not on the original setlist, since they are by definition mellow...
Luckily everything seems to be all alright now....

Sigur Ros play Grand Ballroom in NYC tonight (June 16, 2008), and then MoMa tomorrow. It also looks like they'll be back in NYC to play two shows in September. Pro-shot videos, and the setlist from Bonnaroo, below.....

They should have two drummers, just like the Grateful Dead, in case one falls asleep.

according to the bowery presents website, it says the show starts at 8 pm. Does anyone know if they have an opener? Maybe that female bring band that backs them up all the time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

according to Helgi Jonsson, there is an opener:

"that female [string] band" is amiina. they are backing them again on this tour, but are not playing their own sets.

weed question- I dont think im alone in this but I want to blaze before the show and have reserved seats. Does the venue allow re-entry or is the only way to smoke before sigur ros possible by skipping opening band?

is the poster for sale?

not to condone scalping or anything, but with fees, a single ticket to tonights show costs around $75, so paying a 100 for a tickets really isn't that much of a premium.

Posted by Anonymous | June 16, 2008 10:29 AM

actually they were $57 each with fees.

Posted by Anonymous | June 16, 2008 12:50 PM

that's what the girl on the phone told me.

perhaps he's not technically considered an opener, but still going to play a short set before the band?

Posted by Anonymous | June 16, 2008 12:55 PM
