Sigur Ros are playing MoMA on June 17

One day after the Grand Ballroom show I think. Eleven days before Iceland with Bjork.
Ryan McGinley is supposed to be there too. He is the one who took the picture for Sigur Ros' new album cover, and who inspired their new nudity-filled video.

I doubt they'll have a full set.
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 3:48 PM
what makes you say that?
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:04 PM
Cause he has tickets on ebay he's trying to sell
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:04 PM
So...how do we buy tickets?
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:14 PM
when cat power played MOMA last year, it was a very short show. had an open bar, but it definitely not a full show.
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:19 PM
someone provide legit ticket info asap.
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:28 PM
the cat power show last year was a total disaster. she only played for like 20 minutes, and you could barely hear her over all the audience chatter.
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:31 PM
yeah. but that is cat power.

Leave it to New Yorkers to yell and chat at a Sigur Ros show.
Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2008 4:35 PM
Better be careful with that. Sigur Ros fans are nutty. And armed.

This show is part of Moma's PopRally series.
Keep your miserable eyes here

I highly doubt it will be a medium/long set considering it is paired with a movie. I'm thinking 3-4 songs.
Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 9:27 AM
Show had been added to Sigur Ros's tour dates page:

june 17 • moma, new york city, new york » tickets (from noon 10.06) » α

3-4 songs is the perfect length. Because then you'll definitely get to hear that one song that sounds like all their other songs.

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 11:40 AM

Posted by brian | June 3, 2008 11:53 AM
does anyone know how I can get tickets?
Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 2:22 PM
they should make it for MoMA members only. that way none of you kids would get tickets and all would be good.
Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 2:24 PM
I just got my presale tix in the mail today.
Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 2:26 PM

Posted by brian | June 3, 2008 2:45 PM
just got my shipping confirmation email from klink/sandbag:
"Your ticket order is now on its way to you !
Your order has been packed and will be despatched using a certified mail service, over the next couple of days, to the address below.
If the delivery is not successful, a calling card will be left, advising you of how to arrange a new delivery date or delivery address."
Also included a USPS tracking number that indicates the package originated from Melville, NY on 6/2/08. Hope this helps anyone else still looking for their preorder.
Posted by rad | June 3, 2008 3:12 PM
how do you know they are coming from melville, or is that where you getting them sent too?
Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 3:24 PM
from the poprally site:
"Tickets are $18 and will be available online only. Tickets go on sale at noon on Tuesday, June 10. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
You must be twenty-one or older to attend this event."
fuck the 21+ thing. fuck.
Posted by jason | June 3, 2008 3:33 PM
trust me no one will check ids at the door. security at Moma is very lax
Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2008 3:36 PM
@3:24 - i entered my tracking number into the USPS website and it said:
"Your item was processed and left our MELVILLE, NY 11747 facility on June 2, 2008"
Posted by rad | June 3, 2008 3:37 PM
I was ID's last time, but I dont know if museum employees are sophisticated enough to spot fakes.
