Sigur Ros tickets & pics of them bowing @ Grand Ballroom

The Sigur Ros presale commenced this morning around 9am. The usual headaches were incurred. Don't worry though, the regular on-sale is still to come.
Sigur Ros didn't play a second encore at the Grand Ballroom show the other day, but they did answer everyone's wild applause by coming back on stage for multiple bows. More pics from that segment of the show below...

I hope the ticket service charges don't go to paying for those stupid outfits.

thanks BV! these bows were incredibly emotional. they looked like they were totally shaken up by the respose of the crowd, and probably also shaken up by how far into the music they sailed.
the white jumpsuits remind me of Woody Allen's sperm in "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex"

Ive seen Sigur Ros before, and they always looked like they are shaken up. So, dont think so much on it.

the bows at Grand Ballroom WERE TOTALLY SO MUCH BETTER than the bows at Moma!!! OMG.
Sorry, I had to do that.
Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 10:56 AM
their bows at Beacon in 2005 were a stately tableau pose, pure confidence, with just them and Anima...very different from these, but very beautiful in their own right.

Don't got no tix, man.

can any "top tier" act please take note.
when you use a ticketing service - please use something that is tested for the ravenous feeding frenzy of a NYC area presale.
we can crash any server, and beat the crap out of the NE patriots.
yeah, nyc style.

Dude I'm a lifelong Jets fan, and I'll be the first one to admit that no, we CANNOT beat the crap out of the NE Patriots, especially when they're stealing our playcalls.

Tickets to sigur ros bowing go on sale monday at 12:00.

Dude, I was at the show on Monday, and the bows were truly magical. When the horn guys came out and did that breakdance/leg weave thing, it seemed like the crowd was clapping not as 1,200 people, but as one love-filled aura of hope, peace, and happiness. Nothing in any venue in New York will ever compare to the second set of bows at this show, especially the entire set to MoMA.

United Palace will be a let down for those who saw the shows this week but still STOP FREAKING OUT if you missed out on tickets. This will not be the insane scalp fest these past 2 shows were. You will be able to walk up to the Palace the night of the show and get a ticket for less than face.

dude, sigur ros fans are ACTUAL fanatics. it will be sold out beyond your wildest dreams, and if you can get a ticket the night of the show, you'll pay twice list price from a scalper. sigur ros could play a residency at MSG and sell out every night, because the people who love them love them unquestioningly, and their live shows are unparalleled for emotional significance. seeing sigur ros is never like seeing another band, and fans know that, and, therefore, you will need to be waiting at 9:58am next friday to try and get a ticket from ticketbastard for the UPT shows.

anon 3:23 - i agree.

did sigur ros steal the marching band uniforms from coldplay and bleach them??
Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2008 5:16 PM
no coldplay stole the idea from them... like that loser steals everything...
from sigur ros message board:
btw look at this quote from jónsi...lol (i translated it from spanish, i found it on a spanish sigur rós site)
"i hate coldplay, but its something that cannot be said, right? Maybe I shouldnt... well, i think its ok that many people likes them, but in dont like them at all. And I find Chris Martin's attitude just ridiculous. The funny fact, is that there was a time in wich me met quite often, specially in festivals. When we met, he was a huge sigur rós fan, and it that same festival goldfrapp was also playing (another band i cant stand). So he came to me and said: "yeah, so here we are, the best three singers in the world!" I thought he must have been kidding... but he wasnt..."

don't know if there's an actual source for that anywhere though...
but assuming it's somewhere here: http://www.ocnos.com/

Anon 3:23..you and that butt buddy of yours Anon 4:38pm obviously have never been to a lot of shows in NYC. You both are enormously stupid people with no clue. I can assure you that what will happen is there will be a ticket frenzy and the show will sell out and idiots like yourself who dont get tickets will overpay to scalpers for seats. Then come the day of the show, there will be tickets to be had for little over face if not lower on Craisglist as the demand becomes far less than the supply. On the night of the show you will be able to buy a ticket outside for less than face
What you 2 dopes are missing is a couple of things. United Palace is a huge place. Scalpers will own many of the tickets for that place as they have for every other show that has been there.
Most bands have huge fan bases if they are playing in a place that size. Sigur Ros is no different. This show though comes on the heels of 2 smaller more exclusive shows from this band. Many of the people who saw these shows will not bother to go to United Palace cause the shows will not even come close to being as good as that in reference to sound and intimacy. I expect the crowd to be made up of the super fans who see nothing but this band over and over, people who heard about the shows this week or could not get tickets which will be much easier to get for this show and your celebs who you dopes on here love to point out.
You can take that to the bank but hell go nuts and pay a scalper 5000 dollars for a ticket. I would pay just that much to see your face the night of the show when you are standing outside and watch someone buy one for 20 bucks.

anon 6:23 you obviously don't feel passionate about sigur ros. in fact, i bet you only went to the shows this week to brag to your friends and other people you think would be jealous. truly passionate fans see sigur ros every tour. they go to multiple nights, drive long distances, take days off work to fly somewhere and don't bitch about the same setlist every show. anon 3:23 & 4:38 are far more respectable people for truly loving a band and not taking the holier than thou route. by the way, in case you didn't know they played a SOLD OUT SHOW at radio city and that place is TWICE the size of united palace. look it up if you don't believe me. with that said - you should just shut up and go fuss about the next show with hard to get tickets.

I'd write something witty and barbed here, but what's the use? If Monday's show wasn't exceptional, why are people still posting pictures - of the curtain call bows, no less - almost a week later?
