Sigur Ros - tickets on sale & Iceland Bjork webstream

Sigur Ros @ MoMA (more by Ryan Muir)
Sigur Ros

Nat Geo Music, the music division of National Geographic Entertainment, will Webcast an open-air Náttúra concert live from Iceland on Saturday, June 28, 2008. Two of the world's most important and visionary musical entities, Björk and Sigur Rós, will headline the free concert.

The event will be available exclusively at worldmusic.nationalgeographic.com from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET (begins at 8 p.m. BST/London or 7 p.m. GMT/Reykjavik).

To be held in a large park near the centre of Reykjavik, all of the performances will be during daylight, with Iceland's capital city and dramatic rolling scenery providing a perfect backdrop to what is expected to be one of the biggest concerts the country has seen. The Náttúra concert looks to raise awareness of the impact of the growing aluminum smelting activity on Iceland's natural landscape.

Tickets for the two upcoming Sigur Ros shows in NYC are on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 10:55 AM

Orch Row J (right center)....never been to this venue (I live in Philly) but I assume these tickets are pretty amazing, yeah? What's this venue like? It looks like it will be a great place to see Sigur Ros.

Oh look, Dan Deacon will be at the CitySol event tomorrow. http://www.citysol.org/ - I dont see it mentioned on the free events, but I guess maybe its not?

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:09 AM

^ by it I meant "him" - the CitySol event is there.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:09 AM

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:13 AM

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:13 AM

Coldplay and now Sigur Ros?
(in the great tradition of Jimi H. and Adam Ant?)

Posted by the jim | June 27, 2008 11:15 AM

the city sol event for deacon was ajust announced last night, taking the spot of the dirty projectors who just called.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:21 AM

no no no - it was sigur ros...then coldplay.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:33 AM

"yeah, i'd love to know what seats I paid $60 each for, presale company!"

what does it matter..? you already bought the tickets. you know at worst case scenerio they are decent seats, most likely awesome seats.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:34 AM

is that true bv? re city sol w dan deacon? that'd be bomb.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:34 AM

i'd like to know too. for 60 bucks, the least they can fucking do is tell us where we are sitting.

Posted by misterdisco | June 27, 2008 11:42 AM

people from Iceland hate complaining...esp. Jonsi

I'm sure your pre-sale seats are good...OK!

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 11:55 AM

11:34 - here's hoping. but i also worry that they could have just said "first 3 rows go to presale" and i'll be in seat 1, all the way on the left, staring at a curtain.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 12:03 PM

Sigur Ros tix = awesome

Dan Deacon = my balls

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 12:14 PM

2004? try 2000 or even 1997.

Posted by anonymous | June 27, 2008 12:22 PM

"2004? try 2000 or even 1997."

and 1998 and 1999 and 2001 and 2002....

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 12:33 PM

Was everyone charged the same amount for pre-sale tickets or did it vary from city to city, because mine only amounted to $49 (Boston.)

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 1:13 PM

although i dont have the tickets in hand yet obviously, i got a pair for row LL on the side of the stage (100# seats). my friend also ended up getting tickets and since we both dont need them, i'd sell mine at face - just want to drum up preinterest...

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 1:19 PM

But will there be a free poster?

Posted by anon | June 27, 2008 1:24 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 2:23 PM

these guys are the coldplay of avant-pop

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 2:26 PM

dude, you're ^^^^ fucking crazy.

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 2:31 PM

For the comment asking what seats they get during presale: I've bought through KIlink in the past and on my second time I got front row tickets for the Beacon. They are always very good with giving fans the best seats in the house during the presale

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 2:31 PM

I have never been disapointed with seats at the palace. I realize that orchestra DD is better than my seats in the balcony, but the theater is gorgeous and the sound is good and the balcony is still not really that high up.

Posted by Zatzbatz | June 27, 2008 2:42 PM

i think both dates are sold out now!

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2008 3:11 PM

Are the general admission tix better or in front of the orchestra tix?

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 11:48 AM

NY Mag says the United Palace shows will just be the 4 immediate members of SR performing. That seems unpossible. Any idea what on Earf's up with that?
