Sled Island in Calgary, Alberta, Canada this week
Sled Island is an event with many parts. The bulk of the festival happens in Calgary June 25, 26, 27 and 28. There are music shows in many venues around town and we have a main outdoor site at Mewata Field operating on June 27 and 28. There are art shows happening in various galleries including the Glenbow, as well as movies and comedy shows. The Main site features the following bands-A full list of bands is at their site.Friday June 27th Main Site at Mewata Field 3pm- 10:45pm:

Seriously. This is the second year Sled Island has been around and it's well-worth shelling out the moolah to attend.
Last year saw the likes of Les Savy Fav, Spoon, not to mention The Walkmen with funny man Fred Armisen opening (if you don't know who he is think Saturday Night Live or if you're a real music aficiando, you'll recall he was also the drummer for Trenchmouth.)
and this year is going to be just as kick ass!

yeah, this is going to be pretty great, I'm just leaving town to get to Calgary for tonight and it's going to be great. It was just announcd what the 'secret shows' are to be 1:00 at the Legion, thursday Okkervil River, Friday Wire and Saturday Spiral Stairs collaborating with Broken Social Scene.....i think I'll finally get to see him sing date with ikea....it's going to be great.
