Cant wait for tonight. Radio City is so intimate compared to the garden. Its gonna be great.

If you missed last night's show at Radio City well they you suck balls...
The show was amazing, even though it was acoustics, and sometimes the sound was awk, Robert Smith was brilliant. His nonchalant attitude fit the set which was great, however they didn't play "Friday I'm In love"
However the song they ended the show with was kind of weird, and the conversation he was having.. "She said Go, Don't go... Blah blah blah" was um weird...
Though in its entirety one word
Brilliant
p.s. he's funny looking, don't you ever wonder what he looks like on a daily basis'....

yes

10:41 -- you should feel lucky they performed the last song. clearly, if your knowledge extended beyond the mere radio friendly hits, you would know that...
Posted by Anonymous | June 22, 2008 12:46 PM
if they would have played "friday i'm in love" i would not have been happy.

Saw the MSG Show on Friday night. I'm sorry, but they kicked ass and sounded better on this tour then they have in years in my opinion. Porl Thompson is a huge difference in this band, and Friday night was evidence of that. Anyone who likes the bands' older catalog (who chose to stay home) missed probably the best NYC show they probably ever played. They played alot of old gems (100 Years, Shake Dog Shake, Primary (sounded fucking great), Push, Hot Hot Hot, The Kiss, Grinding Halt, Jumping Someone Else's Train). Didn't make Radio City but I bet that show was even better.

went to both shows. set list was better at MSG. the main set at radio city was boring (aside from "catch", "other voices" and "hanging garden") but robert smith walking up the sides and my seat being much closer more than made up for it.

The amount of disgusting tail at the concert was legendary.

For real. I was at the MSG show and I saw maybe 5 attractive girls the whole night. Ugly chicks love the cure, I guess.

All the airhead models were at the REM show a few nights before.

that song they closed with at Radio City is an unreleased song called "forever" that dates back to the mid to early 80s.

I went to Radio City Friday for MMJ & Saturday for the Cure. On Friday night, it took like 10 minutes to get a drink. On Saturday night, there were no lines.
Goths (and old people) do not drink in excess I suppose.

....Or fratboy bras drink in excess.
Posted by Anonymous | June 22, 2008 5:31 PM
That's not fair. I know plenty of nerds that drink in excess. Give them some credit too.

"Radio City is so intimate compared to the garden"
Is have seen over 50 shows at MSG and about 15 at Radio City. MSG is a much better hall for a rock show. Much better vibe. I've seen The Cure at both over the years and thought they sounded much better at MSG. I saw them Fri night. They were awesome!

Went to both shows and Radio City was legendary... A Forest... need I say more?
Posted by Anonymous | June 22, 2008 11:20 PM
saturday night they ended with "a forest" and "forever."

I saw tons of hotties at The Cure's show at MSG on the floor.
So yes, hot chicks usually don't sit in the shitty seats. Sorry dude...
Posted by Anonymous | June 22, 2008 11:43 PM
I had great floor seats. No hotties near me.
Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2008 12:28 AM
the ugly chicks are on the fucking stage, apparently.
Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2008 1:31 AM
The hotties are at Daft Punk's hideaway.

YOU PEOPLE THAT CARE MORE ABOUT THE LOOKS OF GIRLS WHEN YOU ARE AT A CURE CONCERT AND TRASHING THEM, THAN THE CONCERT ITSELF, ARE ABSOLUTE IDIOTS AND FOOLS. YOU MUST BE THE TYPE THAT ONLY GETS INTO A BAND WHEN YOU THINK IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. SO WHAT WERE YOU LISTENING TO, BEFORE YOU DECIDED TO PRETEND TO BE A CURE FAN. WERE YOU INTO NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK, OR WAS IT NSYNC - OR MAYBE YOU WERE IT WAS BRITNEY SPEARS - OR NIRVANA ONCE GRUNGE BECAME POPULAR AND YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS COOL?
I WAS AT MSG - THANK GOODNESS I DIDN'T COME ACROSS YOUR TYPE.

I was at MSG, and to the idiots that are claiming there were no good looking women there... you must be ugly bastards yourselves, cause there were tons of good looking girls at that show. I guess when you're effeminate and wearing argyle and listening to Wilco, it's hard to pull that act off at a Cure show huh?

@Anon. 6/23 5:42 AM:
Are you seriously claiming newcomers are getting into The Cure now because they're trendy? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
@Anon. 6/23 9:38 AM:
Are you, a fan of The Cure, seriously trying to insult someone by calling him effeminate? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No, I never meant that they only recently became cure fans.

The Radio City show was amazing... 2 1/2 hours, an awesome mix of old and new. Would love to have set list. Does anyone have it?
And really, the whole thread about hot chicks, please. If getting off oggling women was your goal for Saturday night, then why go to a concert? Hit up a peep for god's sake and stop blathering like a 15 year old. Get a life.

I was at Radio City. This was my first Cure concert and I have a question: Was it just me or was the crowd totally lame? I mean, almost no one was dancing. Some people were even sleeping!!! I was seated in the orchestra and I expected a lot more from the crowd. I know seats make it difficult to get crazy, but still...
Posted by Diavolina | June 23, 2008 1:41 PM
MSG was really lively, and not just the floor.
Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2008 1:53 PM
2nd mezz left at Radio City was actually bouncing-- literally--as so many people were dancing. I sat down at one point and my seat just bopped up and down to everyone else's rhthym. Much partying too, of all kinds, so it was pretty lively. Vive la cheap seats!

I agree completely about you idiots complaining about the lack of hot girls. Go beat off in the bathroom while looking at a Britney Spears poster if that is what you are into. The show at MSG was fantastic, crowd was lively, acoustics were great and the Cure was amazing. Loved the combination of old and new songs and really pleased with the inclusion of some of their early darker stuff.

I just hate so many of you here. You just make it so easy.
I love The Cure, I grew up listening to them. The idea that dip-shits and jocks like them too has always made me confused and nauseaous. I have never and will never get the connection between The Cure's music and these lesser brained fans. It's a strange paradox.
Who cares if there were hots girls/guys there? If you were there, you should have been there to see an amazing band and to listen to the songs of our (or at least my) youth. Your focus is so off.
...And being upset that they didn't play 'Friday I'm in Love" is just beyond telling of your idiocy.
The MSG set list was truly inspired. The show was amazing and that's all that matters.
