These New Puritans - 2008 Tour Dates (NYC this weekend)

I decided before SXSW that I didn't really like These New Puritans (I made the right choice?), but now that the UK band (who are signed to Domino) are about to reach NYC (part of a larger North American tour), I figure I should at least give them one more chance or at a minimum point out that they are playing the Friction party at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Sunday, plus Misshapes @ Santos Party House and a Green Market party while they're here. Great band, great debut album, definitely worth checking out. Try and get hold of their 12 minute Hedi Slimane commissioned track. Think Tim Goldsworthy is doing a remix of it actually, or he has done one.... not sure.

1664 is pretty good beer. but he looks like the guy who gets drunk after 2.

so yea, is kronenburg 1664 like the french pabst? definitely doesn't taste much better; I'm assuming it's cheaper on that side of the atlantic.

this is a good band

yeah- 1664 is pretty cheap. Went to a bar in Paris last year and it was something like $2US for a can. The kids were drinking it up like PBR here.

Can we please get some live reports on these guys from people who saw either their Saturday daytime or Misshapes performances. Just wondering if their worth paying to see tonight at MHOW.

"these guys are well worth taking a trip out the comfort zone and going to see live...."
I'm not sure what the comfort zone is, but you must work for them or something. Completely boring at Misshapes.

u guys are a rediculas.. they just played in columbus friday night they were utterly amazing to see live at any show put out a good performance even got to meet the base guitarist at the end of the show. trust me its only a 14 dollar show and defintly u wont be disapointed.. im just sad that the crowd was so shitty thats why good bands never come to columbus lol

I agree completely with the last comment. I just went to the San Francisco show last night and was mesmerized by the band, but the crowd...ugh! There were at the most 10-15 fans there, but that didn't detract me from enjoying the show. "FFF" is amazing live, as is "Colours/Navigate". The band looked amazing as well...very pristine.
