Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 9:52 AM

omg sold out in 30 secs?

Posted by hahahahahah | June 13, 2008 9:53 AM

"wow that sold out fast."

dont be a jerk

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 9:53 AM

no they really sold out. or ticketmaster broke.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 9:54 AM

were they all sold during presale?

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 9:56 AM

Apparently, the only tickets that were made available during the general onsale were GA-LAWN (Standing) tickets.

I got on the second the clock struck 10 and that's all I got....

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 9:56 AM

"were they all sold during presale?"

I read in the Brooklyn Paper that they sold something like 6000 tickets in the presale.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 9:59 AM

what do you expect when there is maybe less than 1/4th the seated tickets going to the general public :o

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:02 AM

6,000 tickets in the presale?

Out of a total of 7,000 spots in the venue?

(2,000 seated, 5,000 lawn)

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:05 AM

Seriously, when was the last time Dylan played in Brooklyn? 1962?

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:07 AM

so what your saying is that NO ACTUAL seated tickets went on sale to the public at the general public sale date?

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:07 AM

Dylan never played Brooklyn. This is the first time.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:11 AM

Yes, no actual seated tickets went on sale to the public at the general public sale date.

In retrospect, this is better, because real fans got the primo seats during the presale.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:12 AM

I'm not sure that he's EVER played Brooklyn before. It looks like he played Queens (the tennis courts) a couple of time in the 60s.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:13 AM

10:12: How do you know this? Are you just assuming this because you only got lawn?

I tried at 10 and got nothing, so my assumption was that no tickets were released this morning. Maybe someone did get reserved seating this morning.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:16 AM

"In retrospect, this is better, because real fans got the primo seats during the presale."

um, yeah and the scalpers....

If all the primo seats went to real fans during the presale why are there so many being offered for sale on stub hub and craigslist? Seems to me that real fans would want to se the show and hold on to their tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:19 AM

He's never played a real full length concert before in Brooklyn, but he has played in Brooklyn..... once at BAM in the 80's as part of a tribute show. Short set, maybe one or two songs.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:21 AM

That's a dumb thing to say. Real fans. Do you really have to be part of a fan club to be a real fan? Why do we have to Mousekateer the shit out of everything?

Sweet thing about the PP band shell is that there's lawn, and there's deep lawn. Deep lawn's free and you can hear it all just fine.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:22 AM

>he played Queens

He played Forest Hills in '65, right after Newport.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:27 AM

guys - it's dylan...he likes cash...they'll prolly do another show, if not, two.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:27 AM

Look - scalpers are going to get their hands on tickets no matter what.

What other way is there to ensure Dylan getting tix to his fans besides making all the good seats available during the presale, with the presale password available via a link on his website that was delivered to Dylan newsletter subscribers via e-mail?

I say good job.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:29 AM

wow, thank god Im not a dylan fan or id be pulling my hair out just about now.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:51 AM

"with the presale password available via a link on his website that was delivered to Dylan newsletter subscribers via e-mail?"

Gimmee a break. that password was widely available to non fan club members, not only right up there on his web site without a link, but on numerous blogs including this very one, the night before and that pre sale morning as well as local newspapers. ..

Anyone including scalpers got that password in about two seconds, and did.

I am not a member of the fan club or subscriber to his newsletter and I got hold of the password immediately after finding out about the fan club on sale.

I am not a scalper but could just as easily have ben.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:56 AM

^^^ instead you're just a moron.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 10:56 AM

Why am I a moron? Because I got a hold of a password and got myself a ticket before they were sold out? That sounds like I'm a pretty smart person actually.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 11:00 AM

why is there's a thread in which we can shit on tomrrow's free vampire weekend show?

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 11:07 AM

You're a tool.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 11:07 AM

I was actually referring to the idiot who said they're not a dylan fan (aka a moron).

You're ok.

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 11:12 AM

People are bitching about this in both directions. One side saying it's BS to give the good seats to fan clubs etc. and the other saying he doesn't hide the code enough.

The way Dylan usually does it (and did here) is to put the code on his site where anyone can access it. It's a good compromise. You don't need to subscribe, but you actually do need to show some interest.

A bigger thing to bitch about is price. I know the market sets it, and normally I say 'it is what it is',but if you look at his tours of the last several years NYC shows are always substantially more expensive--even large venue shows that don't sell-out.

He'll have some cities at $35 and some at $75 in the same week. It's a New York tax.

"why is there's a thread in which we can shit on tomrrow's free vampire weekend show?"

"girl got some sick eyeliner and dye job"

Hitworthy?

Posted by Anonymous | June 13, 2008 1:53 PM

hey:

I hear the Brooklyn show was rather good. He played a few songs that I was really hoping to hear (i wasnt' there but a friend was), I'm going to the CT show this Friday and only hope the setlist is as good as the Brooklyn one, so hope he's in a good mood.

I don't know about tix and I have never done this, but I have two extra tickets to Friday's show in CT at the MGM Grand (I don't know what kind of tickets they are yet... so they probably pretty good seats, but I don't honestly know... long story).... Some friends were going to come but had to bail at the last minute... if anyone is interested in CT we would have to meet there since the tix are not hard tickets but at the door. You can email me if u like... and no, i'm not selling them.... aupiano@gmail.com

cheers all,
