Versus

Versus keep randomly reuniting and playing shows. Their last one was opening for Yo La Tengo at one of the Hanukkah shows. Before that it was an unannounced show at Union Hall. This time they're playing between Crystal Stilts and Love is All at Bowery Ballroom on June 16th. Tickets are on sale.

Versus named themself after the Mission of Burma album Vs. I bet that means they'll be at Bowery Ballroom one day earlier too.

"no WAY?!?! a band is getting back together in '08?! get hufiza outta here?!?!"

I have a better idea. How about they stay broken up just for you!?

Secret shows...opening for other bands at the last minute... Why do these guys insist on making it so freaking hard to catch one of their shows?

Versus should stay together! there are so many new bands trying so hard to do what Versus did in songs like "River" and "Sunburned," but those Versus records hold up incredibly well. Besides, Bean closed.

Versus never officially broke up (or had a "farewell tour" or "farewell show")... so to say they are reuniting (again) - is, quite frankly, retarded. A hiatus, yes, broken up & reunited, no.

Poor Love is All (I like them and all - and have seen them live) ...but to play after Versus, and not look like a silly lil' inconsequential band is no small feat. If you disagree with this, you never listened to THE STARS ARE INSANE.
