oh wow the sigur ros is tremendous, you gotta watch it! it's like being in the front row of an enormous crowd on a beautiful day (though it's only 50 degrees there, half the temp it is here today!) the band sounds awesome, the Amiina girls are dressed like goddesses, and with the brass section it's practically a whole orchestra up there...i'm not even really sure what makes this rock music, but it's bloody gorgeous

Benevento Russo Duo was canceled at the last minute due to the heavy thunderstorm.

Vieux Tarka Foure played through the rain, and the crowd danced on. Go here for post and pics:

Anyone go to the bullshit Mos Def show at Carnegie Hall? Billed as Mos Def Big Band with Gil Scott-Heron. Gil came out and did two songs. I realize the man is sick, but for $85 I'd have appreciated some truth in advertising. Other than that it was an ego fest and boring as shit.

I'm digging what I've heard of The Acorn so far....rhythmic, acoustic.......yeah.

hey pete,
I realize the man is sick, but '' - you don't realize he is, otherwise there would be no but u idiot. If Gil tried to do some of his joints and cracked / or sounded horrible you would complain aswell.
an ego fest and boring as shit. - apparently you don't like music, and wanted to be entertained like some 5 yr old.
The show was an unbelievable tribute to MUSIC. All kinds. It was creative, and soulful. You sound stupid as hell when you post these complaints on a blog in hopes that a few angry little non ARTISTIC trust fund babies could co-sign.
sorry to disappoint none HERE.
