DEERHOOF add 2008 Tour Dates, answer "Why Obama?"
Deerhoof @ Prospect Park on 7/18/08 (more by Kyle Dean Reinford)

"For me the thing about Obama is I really like the way he talks. In the Demo debates it would be someone talking gibberish, then someone else countering in gibberish, then he'd start in and suddenly every word made sense." [Greg Saunier of Deerhoof]Cute little bludgeoners Deerhoof, fresh off their Prospect Park appearance with newest member Ed Rodriguez (of xbxrx, Iceburn, etc), have announced a US tour with Experimental Dental School including two NYC shows. Those are at Irving Plaza on October 22nd (tickets) and at Spiegeltent on Oct 21st (no tickets yet).

that's why i like Obama too. i can, on the most basic level, understand what he's saying. even if i i know that he's lying to me, i just like understanding the words that come of his mouth and being confident that they are real words in the English language. Better luck next time George Bush Jr.
I also like Obama because he has a perfect voice for voiceovers. Mccain sounds like someone who lives in a basement in Queens.

We know Greg from Deerhoof is doing his damndest to not call Obama "articulate".

he's so articulate for a black person! they sure are teaching the good stuff in the projects these days huh?

Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.

1:05 you should send this memo to george bush.

"1:05 you should send this memo to george bush."
Agreed. But I'd add it should be sent to all of them, politicians, The Big O included. But do keep hope alive, and keep belivin' cause he's the real deal, the messiah - here to cure us of all that ails us.

"he's the real deal, the messiah - here to cure us of all that ails us."
That would be nice, but at this point I'd settle for someone who is simply not a complete idiot (e.g. George Bush and John McCain). It's nice to have someone representing America who is not a total embarrassment.

"It's nice to have someone representing America who is not a total embarrassment"
Agreed. To me, though, Obama, unfortunately, falls into that category as well. Although, I do ocassionally enjoy his Youtube groovin' on Ellen.
To each his own.

John Mayer singing "Why Georgia" >>>>>>> Greg Saunier answering, Why Obama?

So, the way a person speaks is more important then the message. No wonder this country is in trouble.
Obama (and McCain and Bush) are all idiots. What Obama did with the telecommunications surveillance act was absolutely appalling and unpatriotic.

lol unpatriotic.

"More from you please..."
That would be me, but the quote is George Orwell's. He wrote extensively on the topic of political speak, and I can't help but think of him anytime politicians open their mouths.
Blind obedience to a candidate (even The Big O) is el stupido.

Toothache has a number of causes. Find out what they are, and learn about two toothache remedies that may help.

sheesh, the poor fella sez something heartfelt about the o-bomb and the freakin' peanut gallery goes all foxnews/talkradio on him...relax, this was a small political comment from an amazing musician whose work speaks far more than his words...
