King Khan @ South Street Seaport - June 27, 2008 (more by Jason Bergman)
King Khan at South Street Seaport

All of El Guincho's upcoming North American tour dates are cancelled. That includes the Pitchfork Fest and the free show he was playing with Atlas Sound at South Street Seaport on July 25th. They don't have a replacement at the Seaport yet, but they did just add the following to the free summer seaport schedule:

July 18 -- Nouvellas, and The Lost Crusaders
August 1 -- The Rub
August 8 -- Cass McCombs with Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson
TODAY AT THE SEAPORT: Telepathe, Abe Vigoda, and No Age. 6pm. FREE as always. Stream Abe Vigoda's new album at AOL.

Abe Vigoda are also playing the Yard on Saturday (so are Crystal Antlers) and Mercury Lounge on Sunday (so are The War On Drugs).

Posted by bob drylan | July 11, 2008 12:31 PM

too bad about el guincho. i was looking forward to that seaport date. that's a hell of an album imo.

Posted by god below | July 11, 2008 12:37 PM

what time are each of the bands on tonight?

Posted by anon | July 11, 2008 12:49 PM

yesssssssss...telepathian girls...haven't seen them live but based on what i've read in BV comments, they are AWESOME! especially live! call santos...it's a party! jeremy = santos, ale = party , house = no age t-shirt! 10 seconds of free hype included!

that sucks, at least Gang Gang Dance is doing a show that night

BV lists this show as starting at 6 pm, but the River to River and Seaport sites say 7 pm.

Great lineup at the Seaport tonight.
I've had the No Age album on repeat for a while now. I hope they don't disappoint.
Has anyone seen them live? Comments?

can i drink beer and not get a ticket?

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2008 1:42 PM

Isn't there a place with beer specials near/at the Seaport shows?

Posted by Austin | July 11, 2008 1:48 PM

seen No Age open up for the Liars. they were great. lived up to the hype. love the new LP.

'Isn't there a place with beer specials near/at the Seaport shows?'

Jeremy's Ale House is a good spot to get big friggin' beers that's relatively close to the seaport. pretty decent, relatively cheap seafood there, too.

I was looking forward to the El Guincho tour, that sucks.

Its up on the food court. Sells Big ass Cups of bud for 4 or 5 bucks. Its a seafood place. cant remember the name. Near the north part of the atrium on the east side of the pavillion.

I dont think Jeremy's will let you walk out with the cups... but maybe they can't stop you? But thats over near the fulton mall.

im going to brown bag. FTW.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2008 2:14 PM

Seaport site says it's 7-9:30. Is that accurate? Anyone?

Posted by Tito | July 11, 2008 2:14 PM

No Age might be great tonight, but the crowd/location could likely kill the mood.

On another note. I'll probably think Telepath are a gift from god if they even do anything to beat the incredibly low expecatations this site's commenters have set for me.

djs on at 6pm, show starts at 7pm, i believe

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2008 3:03 PM

yeah this show is gonna suck - no age is meant for a loft or small tight venue - but if the kids bring it - the show will rock.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2008 3:16 PM

all shows start at 7pm.
