monotonix. if there ever was a flash-in-the-pan band, it's them. let's not play instruments and pour beer over each other. wow. it's right up there with black keys/kids/lips peeing on band members. way to go guys. keep up the good work.

Apparently they just canceled their Minneapolis stop yesterday (which is the DAY BEFORE the show) because "It wasn't worth their time." Nice. Quite a few people are pretty pissed off about this here in the Minne-apple. Anyone know what's up?

About Minneapolis.... My name is Sean Carlson. I run this tour and I will explain what happened with MPLS. Last night Mike from Team Robespierre hurt his back really badly carrying equipment into the club in Iowa City. When someone gets hurt it affects everyone on the tour being that we are all traveling in one old bus.

Take note that I had to fly home on Sunday to finish work on the F Yeah Fest in LA..... So last night I began receiving phone calls from everyone on the tour. Everyone was physically drained. For lack of better word, fucked. We hadn't taken a day off in 15 days and were almost always doing all night drives being the bus goes 40-50mph tops. With Mike getting hurt everyone demanded that we cancel one show and rest for the day. If we were to go to MPLS we'd have to leave Iowa City that night for an early load in & then leave after the MPLS to get to Chicago by noon on the 3rd. We knew this stepping into the tour and felt up for it. But didn't realize the toll that this tour would take on our bodies.

Last night at 3:00am it was decided that we had to cancel todays show for everyones well being. We had bit off more then we could chew and needed to rest.

Canceling the Triple Rock was very had being that we are all close friends with Eric Funk who runs the venue. The cancelation had nothing to do with "not worth our time". God no. Half of the shows on this tour have been playing to 20+ a night. We knew this going into this tour being that we are hitting a lot of small towns and we are excited going into these shows regardless if there is 5 people or 400 people.

anyway, i apologize about the confusion and I apologize to all in Minneapolis that missed the show. We will make it up to you on the next tour.

Oh my God, his penis is on fire! That's gonna be the name of my new band, Penises on Fire. And we're from williamsburg. And we're gonna wear really tight jeans and roll them up to our calves. And it will rock.

Phil and Sean,

Those 5 dollar red gloves are famous. See you in New York

So the show was cancelled because when one guy is hurt, none of the bands can play. And you did a bad job with the scheduling. Got it.

re: Minneapolis and Mike from Team Robespierre...

These things are to be expected when you book a bunch of whiny indie rock pussies on a punk rock tour. Vive le difference!

Posted by Anonymous | July 3, 2008 10:34 AM

this thread is hilarious.

So everyone knows, the guys from TR have been in punk rock bands for the last 12 years. Folks into to diy punk rock from the late 90's onward probably know Thulsa Doom, Morning Glory, Hipster Bloodbath, etc. This tour is DIY as they come and while someone getting hurt might have been the "official" reason but I have a strong feeling this is chalked up to bad tour planning and burn out.
