Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 11:50 AM

did tickets for fleet foxes really sell out in 30 seconds? wow.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 11:51 AM

Damn. Not even a minute...

Le sigh. I should be in bed, anyway.

Posted by Austin | July 10, 2008 11:52 AM

Ridiculous.

Posted by michaelways | July 10, 2008 11:54 AM

apparently there were only 90 tickets on sale for the Union Hall fleet foxes show. Oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 11:55 AM

Thanks BV for the info on GB. Looking forward to hearing some new Bear tracks.

Posted by drewo | July 10, 2008 11:55 AM

How could this Fleet Foxes show sell out so fast? The first one didn't sell out for a month or so after it went on sale.

Posted by pants | July 10, 2008 11:59 AM

BOOOIIIINNGNGGGG!

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 11:59 AM

why the eff would they say tickets on sale at noon.....and then have everyone know they were sold out 10 minutes before??

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 11:59 AM

apparently only 90 tickets on sale for the 2nd show.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:00 PM

Yeah I just saw that. WTF? Is the rest guest list only?

Posted by michaelways | July 10, 2008 12:02 PM

what do you mean sold out ten minutes before ? im so pissed, i was hitting refresh since 11:50 and then click buy tickets at noon, RIGHT at noon and it was already sold out. i dont understand

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:05 PM

I don't think they were on sale 10 minutes before, because I was refreshing the order page well before noon and that buy link wasn't available then. I saw the buy link right at noon, but when I clicked on it- the page said tickets not on sale.

Posted by pants | July 10, 2008 12:05 PM

I just got a pair at 12:10! Then it went to X all over the place. WOOWOO!!!!!! I'm going!

Posted by MyLife | July 10, 2008 12:05 PM

At least I got my Grizzly Bear tickets. This should sell out in a few hours.

Posted by pants | July 10, 2008 12:07 PM

there were only 90 tix available because union hall only holds 100 people. the rest are probably friends or press.

Posted by kyle | July 10, 2008 12:07 PM

It absolutely did not go on sale before noon. They just sold really quickly.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:08 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:09 PM

11:30 Union Hall
Up to 4

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:09 PM

There's no way it legimately sold out that fast.

Posted by michaelways | July 10, 2008 12:10 PM

Sure it could have. Pearl Jam sold out MSG in under a minute, I think a band with super hype could sell out a 100 capacity venue in a second.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:12 PM

Craigslist buyers beware... i think Union Hall tix are non-transferrable.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:13 PM

It's 1/5 the size of Bowery....i think it's possible that it was legit.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:13 PM

thats probly not true- they are just will call

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:13 PM

"why the eff would they say tickets on sale at noon.....and then have everyone know they were sold out 10 minutes before??"

BV's clock is slow.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:14 PM

From union halls website:

----
Advance tickets are non-transferable and Ticketweb customers must bring a form of ID to claim their will call tickets. All shows are listed in order of last ("headliner") performer first and support acts following.
----

how do they prevent transfer? is the ticket just a wrist band? i saw a show at union hall and htey just stamped my hand

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:15 PM

If you get tickets in your cart, they aren't sold until you checkout. What happens is then those tickets are kicked back out around the 8-10 minute mark and go on sale again, until every last one has been paid for. That's why you keep checking. Also, most venues won't tell you how many they have for sale and sometimes just release some on the day of show if they were holding tickets for labels, the artists themselves, friends, family.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:16 PM

Keep trying. My roommate just picked up a pair. No joke.

Posted by michaelways | July 10, 2008 12:18 PM

Yeah, Anon 12:16 - thats why i kept checking and finally wound up with 2. I was trying to get 4 but figured that was impossible.

Posted by MyLife | July 10, 2008 12:18 PM

"How could this Fleet Foxes show sell out so fast? The first one didn't sell out for a month or so after it went on sale."

The first union hall show sold out in a few hours.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:19 PM

"kicked back out around the 8-10 minute mark and go on sale again"

ok if that means that i loose the tickets if i take 8-10 minutes checking out, then i still shouldve gotten tickets.

i was logged in to ticketweb, ready to go, hitting refresh, getting the x, and then at noon the x became a buy tickets- i clicked that, checked the agree to terms box and hit continue or whatever, and in that amount of time (less than 10 seconds), it sold out, or at least the next screen i got was "no tickets available" how the fuck is that possible

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:20 PM

grizzly bear! yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:21 PM

"BV's clock is slow."

shit, will get that fixed. thanks

Posted by brooklynvegan | July 10, 2008 12:22 PM

Why did I think the SPOON show @ Prospect Park was FREE?!?

Posted by Pop GURU | July 10, 2008 12:22 PM

Keep re-loading for Fleet Foxes! That is if you have the time to do so.

Posted by michaelways | July 10, 2008 12:24 PM

Same thing happened to me. It went to the add ticket page, and then when it said to Add to Cart said tickets weren't available.

I blame the Chinese government.

Posted by pants | July 10, 2008 12:31 PM

STARTS(!) at 11:30?!?! me too sleepy.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:33 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 12:33 PM

Posted by michaelways | July 10, 2008 12:46 PM

Posted by doug | July 10, 2008 12:51 PM
