Goldfrapp @ Coachella 2008 (more by Ryan Muir)
Goldfrapp

Following a successful UK summer festival tour, Goldfrapp brings their live show back to North America with a tour kicking off September 12, 2008 at the venerable Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Goldfrapp will also release the "Caravan Girl" Digital EP on Mute July 22, 2008. The EP features the "Caravan Girl" album cut, a live choral version, a live acoustic version of "Monster Love" and an Animal Collective Remix of the song "Little Bird."

In addition, Goldfrapp will release an iTunes Originals Session on August 12, 2008. Recorded at NYC's Electric Lady Studios, the session includes newly recorded versions of longtime Goldfrapp favorites such as "Strict Machine," "Ooh La La," and "Paper Bag" and newly recorded versions of songs from "Seventh Tree" such as "Eat Yourself," Road To Somewhere" and "Little Bird." Is this going to be a similar-type show to their Beacon concert a few months back? Or will it be more elaborate in terms of staging, costumes, etc? (Like previous tours.) I know that Beacon concert was only 1 of just 2 US shows at the time, so I wasn't sure if it was just warm-up-y or if that's the way shows behind this album will look.

Let's not forget that four years ago (when Bloomy was still a Republican), right here in NYC, not only were protesters (and even some non-participating bystanders) arrested en masse, they had their rights violated while they were detained overnight.

This English duo's last album, 2006's Supernature, was long on big, swaggering synth pop that featured Alison Goldfrapp's elastic voice and sultry come-ons. This follow-up is distinctly mellower, with tunes built around guitar, piano, strings and cushy atmospherics.

I would have liked to see them but no one else wanted to pay that much to go. I would have to say the price is high so i guess i will wait to see if they do any other shows.

I've always been a bit of a fan towards the remixes but when overdone the tour can lose sight of its original intent
