Grizzly Bear, Violens playing a benefit in Brooklyn @ MHOW
Grizzly Bear @ Sled Island 2008 (more by Rae Holtsabum)

Grizzly Bear and Violens are playing Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on August 9th. Part of the proceeds, including $1 per ticket sold from Bowery Presents, will benefit The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation flood relief. $20 tickets are going on sale this Thursday at noon. This show is one day after Grizzly Bear play All Points West and their first Brooklyn show in what seems like a while.
Grizzly Bear are also playing Letterman on July 23rd and touring with Radiohead.

I wish that this show was Sunday or Monday and not Saturday, because I am seeing Radiohead again on Saturday and not going to APW on Sunday.

550 (capacity of MHW) minus 75 (people on the comp list) = $475 to charity. wow that'll make a difference!

"550 (capacity of MHW) minus 75 (people on the comp list) = $475 to charity. wow that'll make a difference! "
....learn how to read, jackass.....
"Part of the proceeds, including $1 per ticket sold from Bowery Presents "
....INCLUDING $1 per ticket , as in addition to what the band is donating....

Can't this band afford to donate all proceeds to a charity? They have to keep some for themselves? It is a local show!

yeah jesus. At least they are donating something. A friend of mine worked with the liars and told me they got into debt on teh radiohead tour and were only making 2grand a show
with gas prices, that basically ate up any profit
plus, it's not like they are that big of a band
did YOU buy their CD?
doubtful

they probably ask $10,000 a show. probably get more now on the radiohead tour. they're not that small of a band anymore.
