OH HELL NO

To Bowery Presents,

Why I mean just why? Have you no shame?

iron and wine (aluminum and beer) are not remotely good.
will never forgive their mongoloid fans for sitting on the ground at the pool while low killed it. seriously, low's best set in years, and they couldn't have cared less.

I've read the anti-Terminal 5 comments in the past, but had never gone until last week. I have to say that I agree with the haters on this one. For something like Iron & Wine, Terminal 5 is an awful choice.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 2:31 PM

the 'not remotely good' guy is really making the rounds on BV today poo-pooing on everything.

enlighten us. what is remotely good?

Posted by thirsty for your approval | July 25, 2008 2:39 PM

it wasn't me before. i guess i should stick to saying that they suck.

"iron and wine (aluminum and beer) are not remotely good. will never forgive their mongoloid fans for sitting on the ground at the pool while low killed it. seriously, low's best set in years, and they couldn't have cared less."

blah blah blah, shut the f up.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 2:49 PM

haha. rather than even attempt to say something, let's paste another person's comment and write,
blah blah blah, shut the f up.
extremely thoughtful and creative, friend.

i like terminal 5, i saw the raconteurs and rilo kiley there and it was great. i plan on going to this show.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 2:55 PM

the beauty of bv is, you can't tell who is the "not remotely good" guy, the "i'd hit it" guy, the "broke my macbook air" guy, the "decomposing corpse is opening for..." guy, because these wonderful jokes are applicable to virtually every post on the site.

there have been a couple of OK shows at T5. Nick Cave was pretty damned awesome. But he could tear the lid off of any venue.

Cat Power was a bit of a disaster.

Posted by wembley | July 25, 2008 3:08 PM

Definitely bad choice of venue for this one.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 3:10 PM

worst idea ever.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 3:19 PM

f t5 in the btt

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 3:23 PM

more like blitzen crapper

iron and wine shows put me to sleep quicker than 2 vicodins and a bottle of 2 buck chuck.

wang.

"haha. rather than even attempt to say something, let's paste another person's comment and write, blah blah blah, shut the f up.

Wasn't trying to be thoughtful or creative. But post a stupid comment and you get a stupid response. "blah blah blah, shut the F up" just happened to be the perfect response in that case.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 3:46 PM

i don't understand how the original comment was stupid. i was offended by the collective yawn uttered by the several hundred teenage fans of iron and wine in attendance as low put on a fantastic set last year. it was a sad spectacle, and relevant to this post about iron and wine. i fail to understand your reflexive and vacuous negativity. i guess it's too much to expect more from this forum.

I'M TYPING SO HARD I MIGHT BREAK THE KEYS ON MY USED $100 DELL INSPIRON LAPTOP THAT I BOUGHT FROM A GUY IN LONG ISLAND CITY ON CRAIGSLIST!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 4:27 PM

I'm definitely going... but T5 for this band boggles my mind...of all the venues in this city, we are cursed with T5 ughhh

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 4:53 PM

town hall

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 5:37 PM

I love "rotting corpse" guy, "I'd hit it" guy, and "not remotely good" guy. I also realize that my assuming all these people are male makes me a bit sexist, but let's face it, a chick could never come up with any of these gems.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 6:33 PM

good point, Iron and Wine are responsible for their fans being disrespectful to another band!

and, defending a "[band x] is not remotely good" comment with accusations of reflexive and vacuous negativity = funny

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 6:37 PM

oh no. no goody goody. why they do this? why for terminal 5?
i go an no see show. sound so bad.
when i come ny i not going to be going there not one time more
thank you

Live shows of Iron and Wine available for download at www.PlayedLastNight.com...enjoy

Posted by Debra Ghosh | July 26, 2008 12:34 AM

why t5??? they were wonderful at Town Hall last time around.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 9:07 AM

weak, perhaps, but if their music were less jejune, their fans might be less sophomoric.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 10:28 AM

T5=fail

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 10:49 AM

Except for a few spots, the sound at T5 is actually pretty decent for a place it's size.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 6:05 PM

jejune was amazing. i saw them once at an elk's lodge.

iron and wine is no jejune.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 6:59 PM

All the T5 comments are absolutely true.
This place takes the sound of your favorite band and manages to turn it into total crap.
Trust me, stay home and listen to your records that night and save yourself the sadness of seeing a great band in this shithole.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 10:42 PM

^^^ yeah... stay home like this guy on a Saturday night too. He is so sensitive about sound that he doesn't even go anywhere. Just sits home and complains... nice! Enjoy your records.

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2008 11:18 AM

T5 isnt fatally flawed, raconteurs were great, also saw rilo kiley and that was ok too. but Iron and Wine? terrible terrible idea. all about the $. which is fine. they will sell out, but im not buying.

Posted by Anonymous | July 28, 2008 11:10 AM

don't you people like to drink? its easy to booze at t5. thats worth 12 points.

Posted by d | July 31, 2008 5:03 PM

did anyone else see the cat power show at terminal 5 earlier this year? it was dreadful. chan was actually in rare form, and was very attentive to the crowd and singing amazingly, but the sound was AWFUL. basically ruined the show. i swore that i would never see another show there, but it looks like i may have to if iron and wine doesn't play elsewhere in the city. fuck!

Posted by barstone3 | August 3, 2008 3:40 PM

Can't get a break in this town!!!!!
