Kylesa

Savannah, Georgia's Kylesa has announced a tour of the East Coast that will see the band teaming up with Pinback on a few, including both previously announced NYC dates. Tickets are still available for both (Bowery on 9/28 here, MHOW on 9/27 here). As reported, the band is currently working on their follow-up to Time Will Fuse It's Worth which will (again) be produced by guitarist Philip Cope. Tour dates are down below.

Last time Kylesa was here, they killed the Knitting Factory with The Ocean, Lair Of The Minotaur & Withered. Lair Of The Minotaur are headed back to NYC with M.O.D. - tickets are still available. Withered are headed back to NYC with Watain.

Kylesa shares a drummer with Capsule. Capsule's buddies Torche recently played Webster Hall with Boris.

In related awesome heavy music with female frontwomen news, Made Out Of Babies are hitting Europe, but not before playing a few US dates including a show in Brooklyn at Southpaw with Pigs & Pistola and another in Ohio with the mighty Keelhaul. Brooklyn tickets are on sale.

Kylesa are a really good, really heavy, and really underrated band. I saw them with Hidden Hand (I think) once and they did a great Pink Floyd cover. I hope they get more exposure from this tour with Pinback!

that's a hot chick, even hotter if you eliminate the stupid tattos.

joy division shirt = impulse buy at Virgin Megastore

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 1:17 PM

^^ is actually very true. the real shirts didn't say Joy Division at the top, just the image.

Kylesa SLAYS!! I saw them in a tiny living room in Santa Barbara. A kid was getting crowd surfed and his head got shoved through the low ceiling. Amazing live, but I don't know how good they'll be in such large venues.

Is she all about the G power chord?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 4:15 PM

That Goldtop was an impulse buy at Guitar Center. Just hunchin.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 5:11 PM

Kylessa are bad ass. Two drummers, some great drones, and a Swope-type mystery man fucking with the sound.

When did she get rid of the dreads?!? Hubba Hubba!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 5:27 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2008 11:52 PM

1:37 is right

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 12:14 AM

Wait a second. Deerhunter is the first person to wear a Joy Division shirt at a show? Seriously? Its an f'n t-shirt.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 10:02 AM

gr8 drums...enjoy

Posted by Denise | July 26, 2008 3:57 PM

You people are fucking retarded.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2008 5:09 PM

>You people are fucking retarded.

No more retarded than putting a deer with what appears to be about twenty five pins stuck in its face, and a big stationary clamp on its lips on a poster.

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2008 12:05 AM

yeah, or putting that stupid fucking splatter effect on your "logo" to make it look metal.

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2008 10:40 AM

>>No more retarded than putting a deer with what appears to be about twenty five pins stuck in its face, and a big stationary clamp on its lips on a poster

I assume the stuffed deer photo's from the Museum of Natural History (or a Museum of Natural History), in keeping with the record cover and website design, etc.

didn't these guys used to be crusties?

what a buncha sell outs!

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2008 3:20 PM

Music sucks. Someone turn out the light when the last of the cum stained poseurs finally ODs.

Posted by fanclubfarter | July 27, 2008 3:25 PM

"Is she all about the G power chord?"

Please go back to listening to the Killers, and don't attempt to critique a band you have OBVIOUSLY never listened to. Seriously. Kylesa is pretty damn technical, but I'm guessing you're not a musician, so you probably don't know the difference anyhow. God. go back to spending your Dad's money at Beacons loser.
