So it is AND it isn't.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:10 PM

Do we know for sure we can bring booze and food?

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:13 PM

NO, Santos Party House does not allow outside food, drinks or fun.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:18 PM

Anon 3:03. Nothing about your post is funny. Sorry.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:23 PM

I was talking about the Pool letting us bring booze and food!!! Anyone?...

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:25 PM

dinner, literally anytime

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:27 PM

The Pool won't even let you bring in a bottle of water. There are on-site vendors willing to sell whatever you need -- food or drink for a mere $6 to $20 per item.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:27 PM

I want you inside me

Posted by Coop | July 7, 2008 3:33 PM

Anon 3:23 lighten up a little would ya. you're never getting into Santos Party House with that attitude

Posted by god below | July 7, 2008 3:37 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:38 PM

what the hell is santos party house?

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:38 PM

Last year they let you bring that shit. So... I think you're wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:38 PM

Ah, Williamsburg ... the new NEW Battery Park City, with its keenly-framed free film nights aimed at its 30-ish demographic... suweeeeet!

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:44 PM

anon 3:34 is a young republican

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:44 PM

funny you guys are talking about santos party house under a post about mccaren pool but since we're on the subject man that fucking place is lame.

everyone made it out to be the 2nd coming of the limelight meets misshapes and it turned out to be fucking lame. not to mention the door guys, what dicks!

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 3:48 PM

Last year they let you bring in food/drink for the screenings. But with this block party thing, maybe it's different...

Posted by hipster poseur | July 7, 2008 5:45 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 7:00 PM

I hope Showalter intros the bands a-like-so:

"Before we start I'd like to say the bands you're about to see suck dick! But please.... welcome them!"

Posted by Paul | July 7, 2008 7:21 PM

6:45: Fuck you, dyke.

Yo JJ, save me a waffle man.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 7:24 PM

why are there fucking bands playing?

Posted by michael | July 7, 2008 8:26 PM

Joey Pipes says those two should change their name to The Surprised Hemorrhoids.

Posted by Joey Pipes | July 7, 2008 10:33 PM

Joey Pipes needs to take a cue from Taco Time and realize that quantity doesn't equal quality.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 10:42 PM

Joey Pipes should change his name to Joey Pipes Down and then live up to it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2008 10:43 PM

can vegan give us williamsburgers a break? can there be a few events this summer that you don't COMPLETELY blow the spot on? i know we are all rich spoiled jerks (hahaha), but can we at least enjoy our rich spoiled (hahaha) neighborhood from time to time without 40,000,000,000 people being alerted to every happening? it's getting silly.

(awaiting comments about how terrible I and other people in the neighborhood are, and about how obnoxious my post is, and all the other negativity...)

Posted by anna nani mouse | July 7, 2008 11:24 PM

i want a condo.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 2:13 AM

condo me

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 5:00 AM

Williams Burger Taco Time.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 7:11 AM

11:24 I don't think you have to worry about it being too packed to enjoy. Last two years the movies were never out of control over-stuffed.

And yes, let me oblige your expecations. You are a douchebag, but apparently you already know that as you were expecting to be shat upon. Guess you're used to it, which is healthy. Denial is not a good thing. Not everybody in your neighborhood is douchetastic by any means, but you, yes you are a person I hope to never meet and converse with. But go ahead and keep on thinking you're the only one who should be entitled to attend free yuppy/hipster (yep that's me, I'm not in denial either) magnet events in "your" used to be working class neighborhood. Bad enough having other white people come in from Bushwick. God forbid black kids from bedstuy start showing up right? Swear it, you start letting some friendlier elements in and the whole affair goes to shit. Slippery slope!

Also, Food is ok from what I remember, but you're not "allowed" to bring booze in. If they're checking at the door that is, which they sometimes are. Especially likely that it's the first night of the summer they're doing this. Hide that shit dudes! From what I remember from years past, rum and coke in a Coke bottle worked, or a 1/2 pint of whiskey down your pants was good to go too.

Oh, and bring a joint. See you on the blanket.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 9:40 AM

11:24 works the door at Santos Party House. What a dick!

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 9:49 AM

Wet Hot American Summer is unique and hilarious and I feel sorry for you if you don't get it. Part of the problem for some may be that it takes place at a Jewey upstate/PA summer camp for NY-metro kids, and not everyone can relate to that world.

It's a privilege to have Showalter open up the festivities. Detractors are wasting their time. I feel sorry for them... they probably missed out on The State (MTV) and Stella (live) and have not reached their full potential as human beings because of it.

Posted by Mike | July 8, 2008 10:02 AM

looking forward The King Left's set.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 10:56 AM

maybe 11:24 doesnt know that L magazine is putting this on. and alerted "40,000,000,000" through their ads. maybe she (maybe 11:24 is a girl) just moved to williamsburg and will soon understand these things.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 12:14 PM

eh the last two bands are pretty decent so that's promising. i'm pretty sure after witnessing a load of hipsters show up in costume for this thing i'm never going to want to see the movie again.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 12:33 PM

a million years is damn good. someone told me this is going to be all acoustic performances. is that true?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 12:37 PM

any guestimates for when to get there if you are only interested in seeing the movie. maybe after some snarky comments in response to this someone will know? PLEASE i just want to get in and out, hipsters scare meeee.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 1:27 PM

the movie will start at dusk, or thereabouts.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 1:43 PM

showalter needs some success in his life. all his friends are famous.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 1:53 PM

So, Any more opinions on whether this will be more like a concert or a movie showing at the pool? At concerts, you can’t even bring in bottled water, at the movie showings you can bring in whatever food or alcohol just no glass. I don’t want to buy beer and then not be able to bring it in.

Also, anyone know how strict Turkey’s Nest is about bringing their giant beers outside?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 2:23 PM

How'd that Sandwiches & Cats album go for you, Mikey?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 2:32 PM

Turkeys Nest is alot cooler than Santos Party House thats for fucking sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2008 2:33 PM

anyone know for sure if we can bring in food and beverages?

last summer you could...not sure with this whole block party thing

Posted by jkov | July 8, 2008 4:38 PM

this will be rained out

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2008 1:38 PM

"this will be rained out"

this was last night

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2008 1:51 PM

"this will be rained out"

this is a huge blow to the 5000 people who were there.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2008 2:01 PM

Painfully unfunny intro by Showalter, Rudd, etc. But fun to see it with so many people.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2008 2:02 PM

i disagree. showalter was in top form.
