i really wish these guys had one single song that lived up to amount the energy they put out

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 4:56 PM

music is meh, but the performance more than makes up for it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 5:12 PM

so, no one was there?

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 5:13 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 6:18 PM

was there. 3rd time seeing them, crowd was sparse and kinda weird seeing them in an actual venue, but they still are awesome. covered ramones and johnny thunders. hellz yah!

Fisaco? Who's writing these tour dates?

I was there. I feel like I've seen the same Monotonix show each and every time I've seen them. Oh my gosh, there's a trash can surfing above the crowd, oh my, there's a flaming high hat, and AHH! there's a hairy ass. I mean, it was definitely rad the first time, but you know, gets a bit old.

Valient Thorr's performance made up for it, of course. Stage banter was annoying, but whenever he'd shut up & they'd play, so so good.

"You know what I'm talking about!??!"

It's like after asking us about 1,000,000 times, YES, WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

"Fisaco? Who's writing these tour dates?"

what is your point? Fiasco is playing with them at Bodega.

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 6:55 PM

I think he/she is commenting on the spelling typo.

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 7:05 PM

regardless, i am super excited to see both those bands together (fiasco + monotonix)!

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 7:10 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2008 7:22 PM

i'm so fucking sick and tired of these stupid bad bands making fucking idiots out of themselves and all of sudden being taken seriously. is it that easy to get hipster cred? just act like a fucking madman? too many bands doing this nowadays and not learning to actually play music.

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2008 12:18 AM

yeah these guys really lay the borat shtick on- they're fully aware that they come across like crazy foreigners. I guess the fat asses who run drag city are suckers for shitty yid rock(silver jews too, and I'm a jew myself so don't tear me down on that front). anyway, first time you see the set is cool but they've been playing the same fucking set for 2+years. WRITE SOME NEW SONGS or at least get some butt hair extensions/ dreads

I have wanted to see Monotonix so, so bad. I think their songs are fucking incredible and cannot wait to see them at AS220 in Providence. So no shit talking on this band could get me down. Hazzah!

Posted by D. Joseph | July 30, 2008 6:15 PM

Chris, why do you keep ending up at the shows where dudes get naked? ;)

Posted by lori | July 30, 2008 11:24 PM

"when's a band going to just be a band?"

If you want a band, go see Wilco. If you want a crazy time, go see Monotonix.
