oh well. "Mystery Night" is not Prince. Not even close. John Legend and Estelle play the free show in Wingate Field in Brooklyn tonight (July 21, 2008).

There are some great songs on John Legend's second record but I wouldn't go to this.

Probably coming from some asshole who never set foot in Brooklyn.

Not Prince? I could have told you that weeks ago.

Oh wait, I did. On June 23, 2008 at 5:48 PM to be exact.

Posted by Anonymous | July 21, 2008 6:40 PM

who was the mystery last year?

I just came from this. For every1 who said they wouldnt go becuz it wuz in the ghetto just missed a great concert. Police security was very tight so your fears were completely stereotypical and wrong

Posted by Dude | July 21, 2008 11:44 PM

Um... if police security was very tight then how were our bourgeois fears completely stereotypical and wrong?

If this was a Lil Wayne as the special guest at Wingate there would've been like 50 stabbings/muggings at this thing, but because it's John Legend and Estelle I guess... gangstas can love too.

Excuse me. This is to everybody who say this is the ghetto. Your absolutely wrong. If it was Lil' Wayne and 50 cent in a suburbs area there would be 50 stabbings and shootout. With a whole bunch of Meth heads. This is not the ghetto. This is a very quite neighborhood and relaxing. Thank you.

Cops are in every event were there is a lot of people. They are even in front of Jewish temples.

I attended this event as well. John Legend put on a fabulous show. Estelle was a little long-winded but good nonetheless. Security was too tight and gave me hell about my camera which was not in use (although the entire world has camera phones hello). For all of the "ghetto" comments, the location didn't stop the Caucasians from coming out to enjoy the music. That was the objective for everyone, regardless of color.

I came all the way from New Jersey ALONE and had a great time. No worries. I would do it again. John Legend, Estelle & Anthony VAughn put on great shows.
