how does one go about almost drowning in a community pool? there are people everywhere, even if you were to hit your head and pass out..

Initial toxicology reports suggest he passed away as a result of a child urine overdose

"how does one go about almost drowning in a community pool? there are people everywhere, even if you were to hit your head and pass out.."

well, if you read the linked article:

"Police say that Sayre’s girlfriend had recently been teaching him how to swim."

Very sad.

It's really too bad that this was the first time the Black Swans were covered at all here on BV, with such sad news. They're an amazing band.

BV, this thread is a great example of why you need to make this comments section require logins. I'm starting to wonder is the reason you haven't done is this is because you know that the constant stream of offensive/idiotic/absurd comments actually drives traffic to the site.

or at least have the option of logins. that way regulars can ignore the anonymous idiots.

I'd never heard the Black Swans but I've seen Pretty Mighty Mighty a number of times and always have been impressed by how nice and personal they all were, Noel included. They definitely soundtracked part of my growing up and it's really sad to see a great musician like Noel pass far too young.

I've seen the black swans perform a number of times in a few different places, and while I never met Noel personally, I admired and respected his musicianship every time I watched him. I remember seeing him in New London, legs crossed while standing, looking quietly and thoughtfully at his instrument as he played. He really added beautiful colors to the music. I really feel terrible about it...There was never a shred of inflated ego in anyone in the band..they all seemed to just love playing.
I really can't believe people have taken this news as an opportunity to be sarcastic...truly idiotic.

Rest in peace Noel, my thoughts go out to his cousin, girlfriend and all his friends.

I discovered Noel in Athens, Ohio, when he played with Willin. A truly talented musician. His spirit and music live on.

Rest in Peace.

i met Noel at Freshman orientation at Ohio U. We became friends that very day.My husband and I were good friends of Pretty Mighty Mighty. I am so sad for all who knew Noel. He was an awesome person. I just can't believe it. This is such a tragedy. I am so sorry.

I knew all of the members of Pretty Mighty Mighty back in Athens. Often somewhat reserved in person, Noel let his violin do the talking on stage. He brought an amazing depth of feeling to everything he played.
I am so sorry to hear of this terrible tragedy- and wish his family and friends my most heartfelt condolences.
