One Day As A Lion
One Day As A Lion

"It's better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb."

Great quote, but possibly an even better band? Anti- Records has announced the signing of One Day As A Lion, the collaboration between Jon Theodore (on drums, ex-Mars Volta), Zack De La Rocha (Vocals/Keys! Rage Against The Machine) and their debut five song EP due out July 22nd! Here's another, well, interesting quote:

"One Day As A Lion is both a warning delivered and a promise kept. A defiant affirmation of the possibilities that exist in the space between kick and snare. It's a sonic reflection of the visceral tension between a picturesque fabricated cultural landscape, and the brutal socioeconomic realities it attempts to mask. One Day As A Lion is a recorded interaction between Zack de la Rocha and Jon Theodore from Los Angeles, California."
Word(y).

RATM are playing Lollapalooza with Radiohead, Wilco, Kanye West and others.

The Mars Volta play the Hammerstein in September. Tickets are still available.

ODAAL EP tracklist below...

The songs:
01 - Wild International
02 - Ocean View
03 - Last Letter
04 - If You Fear Dying
05 - One Day As A Lion

Yeah, what ever happened to the all-star-producer rap album that Zack was recording after Rage split up the first time?

Jesus these guys are pretentious. That quote!

"jon is an incredible drummer. his departure from volta was the beginning of the end for them."

riiiiiight....replacing him with a 24 year old drum virtuoso who won the guitar center drum off when he was 9 was a horrible call.....Theodore wasn't showing up to practice, why would they keep him?

the new mars drummer is insane. not saying jon was worse or better. but the new guy is nuts

MV drummer aside, their albums have sucked since the debut. The debut absolutely kills, however.

I loved being lectured by Rage Against the Machine, and I have a feeling I'll love being lectured by this new band. If only the world would take Zach's advice and kill all the politician's, we could finally live under the wise guidance of loud pseudo-revolutionaries.

zach de la rocha / RATM: successfully marketing pseudo-communism and anti-consumerism since 1994.

I like how sheepish Zach De La Rocha looks in that photo above. He knows how disappointed the 16-year-old me would have been with his career after Evil Empire.
"What does the billboard say? Come and play. Come and play. Forget about the movement." Let's never forget how painfully cringeworthy this lyric was.

QA-WITIT NAAAAAAAA

...And let's never forget the time Columbia records had to send Zach a MILLION dollars in cash in a suitcase to get him to stay in the band and keep recording (true story).

true story... but no link. thanks.

Didn't elitism go out of style with grunge? It seems most don't really know what Zack is about, so it's easy to spew b.s...spell his name right, that's a good start... The name of the band is from an old art piece.Sheesh.

ah, good ol' zack, good to have him back, YO!
better to live one day as zack than a thousand years in Audioslave..(or anytime as chris cornell post 97).

Time of fun supposes to be a great stuff but not every student can use that. Usually college students stay at home and research their term essays having no time for fun. But, it can be over now because you are able to buy an essay and enjoy your free time.
