David Byrne and Brian Eno

The title of this post is how an October 4th Santa Barbara show is being billed. There's also a September 20th Atlanta show on sale. As previoulsy posted, David Byrne and Brian Eno are going on tour. UPDATE: People don't think Brian Eno will actually be going on this tour.

This is supposed to be an Eno/ Byrne thread...I want more tour dates!

ps - This will be soooo much better than the Henry Rollins spoken word gig!

Rollins is the opener for Eno's Mac Book Air...which I just broke

Wow, what a show that would be in Santa Barbara. I've been to the Arlington Theater and it's an old movie palace, probably doesn't hold over 2000 people.

I don't think these shows are with Eno - just Byrne. Still gonna be amazing though.

yeah a friend claimed that the original post about this were deceiving and that Eno is not on the tour with him. Has he even ever performed with Bynre live?

Yeah, Eno is not involved with the tour. See (click News, then do a CTRL-F for Byrne. You'll find this:

"According to Opal, Brian will not be touring with David Byrne, so it looks like wires getting crossed at Daily Swarm's source."

It's true, I was talking to Eno at the SUNN O))) show and he said he wouldn't be touring with Byrne this year. Maybe Tina and Jerry will show up though.

Like hell Eno is going on tour. Stop spreading bullshit rumors.

"What about me?!!?!"

- Bryan Ferry

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2008 1:32 PM

Didn't Bryan Ferry Form Roxy Music? Not eno?

Posted by what? | July 16, 2008 1:34 PM

Interesting you mention an Eno sighting at a SUNN O))) concert. I read an interview around 2 years ago where Eno said that SUNN O))) was the only band currently recording music who he considered to be inspiring. I found that to be really wierd coming from him.

Posted by bttls | July 16, 2008 1:37 PM

Eno did NOT form Roxy Music. Roxy Music already existed before he joined. Ferry formed the band, and I doubt Eno would want or seek credit for it, as he has always respectfully distanced himself from it.

It does seem weird that Eno is inspired from Sunn O))) at first because of how Sunn O))) sounds.. But its not that weird if you think about it because Sunn O))) makes a lot of crazy sounds that are pretty revolutionary to what Eno is interested in.

daily swarm = full of crap, YET AGAIN!

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2008 2:00 PM

Daily swarm at least issued a correction--"Brian will not be touring"--it is bv who persists in spreading the false rumor.

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2008 2:28 PM

This is going to be a lot of fun, but is Byrne doing this for the money? He has never seemed much interested in exploring his past aside from the handful of Heads songs he usually does at each show.

I'll be there if he bring that building with him on tour

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2008 3:45 PM

Is there definitely gonna be a full tour, or am I gonna have to go to the US to see him?

post updated with an update.

To be fair to BV and Daily Swarm, the Ticketmaster page linked to above says:

SAT OCT 04 2008 8:00PM

So, if ENO is not going to be there, someone's got some explaining to do.

"David Byrne hitting the road, without Eno"

Posted by Anonymous | July 18, 2008 2:04 PM

"The name of the new record is Everything That Happens Will Happen Today."
