These are Powers @ Citysol 2007 (more)

Speaking of vegetable-oil powered buses, NYC bands getting signed, Secretly Candian-related labels signing bands, and Dead Oceans recording artists...
After witnessing the chaos and energy of a These Are Powers live set, we were immediately enthralled with this band, and after a long courtship and some hot and heavy dating, we are excited to announce the start of a long and fruitful union between These Are Powers and Dead Oceans. First, Dead Oceans will re-release of Taro Tarot and Terrific Seasons in October 2008, followed by an LP of new material in the first part of 2009. The band will support the re-releases with tours of both North America and Europe this fall.

I liked early Liars, I liked No Thing, but I just can't get into These Are Powers. I just don't think they are good.

Is that a still from "Alien"?
This band is a sad joke with no punch line.

Hi!
I'm on Brooklyn Vegan!
I like to say negative things about people I've never met and things I know nothing about!
I think insults are SO funny!
I can't tell the difference between little people in little rock bands and big bloated rock stars! I shit on everybody regardless because I'm jealous of anybody who's more successful than me!
Every time someone catches me not knowing what I'm talking about, I just call them dumb hipsters!
I'm on Brooklyn Vegan! I'm very proud of myself!
