i'm still baffled by the popularity of this band. i saw them play at silent barn maybe six months ago and they couldn't play their instruments worth a damn. just awful.

every song's a single. it's really catchy and moody and it's got a new sound. People all over the world are psyched on it, that's why the record is worth so much on ebay. These are people who have no idea what they look like.

maybe 6 months ago they weren't up to speed live but now they are tight and solid.

regardless, it's a little early in this band's existence to hate them for being successful, they aren't even successful yet. they're an opening band! give them at least a year fuckheads!

i saw them at death by audio open for team robespierre at the record release party. they were fun to watch, but as far as sound they made TR sound like radiohead.

If I think I'm correct in saying this band did not know what a Holy Grail was before Frankie . Also, I'm fairly confident in saying she wrote some of their best songs. Its going to be interesting to see what becomes of the Vivian Girls.

I have a feeling that jealousy is a big part of any negative attention that a band gets. i remember when the strokes came out i was pissed and hated them cause they made music that was similar (not exactly) to what I was going for and i hated that they were so easily accepted as the next big thing - but here at the tail end of the 00s, their first ep and LP are not bad at all. If you don't like the music then why are you at this remote part of the internet? If you actually are a closet fan then don't talk shit... I bet half of you don't own a record player- let alone have a Vivian Gs record.
