trey tickets! who has them?

Can you imagine seeing She & Him at T5? Forgetting the fact that She & Him suck, they should be playing the Supper Club - not T5.

She & Him do not suck half as bad as the commenters here. Webster Hall show was beautiful. However there's no way I'm seeing them at that shithole. Spiritualized is the show for tonight.

she & him @ T5 honestly wasn't that bad. sure the sightlines suck but the sound was shockingly good, and i was moving around a lot throughout the venue.

anybody go to Friendly Fires?

Posted by bill p | July 27, 2008 2:28 AM

Spiritualized. Come Together tore Music Hall off its foundation.

Posted by s | July 27, 2008 4:14 AM

Who would have thought the new Gang Gang Dance would have like, a rap song. Incredible show.

That was Dave Portner playing with Bradford Cox, right?

Stars like Fleas was pretty awful, I felt bad how cleared out the place got when they started.

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2008 5:59 AM

I second the above, Stars Like Fleas were terrible. The Branford Cox thing was barely tolerable.

Posted by Anonymous | July 28, 2008 1:16 AM

SPZ at the music hall was gorgeous. I swear, you could hear a pin drop during the quiet parts of Shine A Light... this one was for the fans. I saw several cameras rolling - hopefully for a live dvd in the future.

Anyone else notice Will Carruthers in the audience?

Posted by i want my daddy's records | July 28, 2008 1:04 PM

^^^I've never heard Spiritualized referred to as "SPZ" but was that not an amazing show or what!!! Remember the long noise freakout they were in at the end of "You Lie You Cheat" that literally stopped on a fucking dime into the nearly silent ambient beginning of "Shine A Light"!?! It was as if someone lifted a needly off a record and placed it on another song. Breathtaking!!!

p.s. I'm the previous Anon (and Sanford & Son fanatic) that used to go on and on about how much I like your handle.

Team Robespierre is a hyphy/punk band from Brooklyn, NY consisting of Rex on guitar and vocals, ty and tomasz on keys and vocals, mikehouse on bass and vocals and jim on drums. Powered by a dirty punk rock ethos, synth hooks and programmed dance beats, Team Robespierre has helped resurrect a Brooklyn punk scene. With a sound that melds the future and the past, the Team brings back memories of 80s new wave and 90s hardcore, with the ability to share stages with diverse bands.

What will Tanzanite have to add to ^^that, pray tell?

Posted by Anonymous | July 28, 2008 9:40 PM

Hiya, blackhat. I actually watched S&S last night. The one where they got the white housekeeper. funny stuff.

Yes, you are so right about that transition to Shine a Light! The next night at T5 wasn't as smooth - the lighting guy probably wasn't paying attention/giving a damn.
