BV, the order you've listed the bands makes it appear as if White Rabbits go on first? Is this the case? I'm looking forward to seeing them, but have little interest in Jay.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 2:43 PM

Are alotta people going to the show? What time are people showing up?

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 2:53 PM

show isn't selling at all

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 3:25 PM

tickets are still available at ticketmaster

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 3:33 PM

show is selling great!

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 4:38 PM

Not surprised show isn't selling. Spoon didn't sell out Terminal 5 recently which is less than half the size (3,000) of the Prospect Park Bandshell (7,000).

fuck that, it's still gunna be a good show

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 5:02 PM

Anyone want to buy my tix?

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 5:07 PM

Spoon did indeed sell out T5 in April. Unless there was some magical allotment of tickets that only I couldn't purchase.

That said, I think tomorrow's show is totally undersold.

uh, well, now that the constantines aren't opening, i'm not going. that might be the case for a few others, as well...

Tons of tickets on Craigslist

http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/tix?query=spoon

I would have been more interested if the Constatines were still playing.

I love Spoon's albums, but they are just OK live.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2008 9:35 PM

the spoon show at T5 didn't sell out. It was listed as sold out on ticketmaster because they only sold about 500 tickets in total, the rest were GIVEN away because it was sponsored by camel cigarettes... it was ridiculous really....

Posted by blah blah rabid | July 14, 2008 10:47 PM

anyone know what time spoon goes on?

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 11:37 AM

even better, what time does the show start if doors are @ 5:30?

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 12:04 PM

Not a good album since Series of Sneaks. They're booooooorrrrrrrrrring!

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 12:11 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 1:19 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 1:21 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 2:10 PM

will be fun to read about how empty this was

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 2:43 PM

it will be even more fun going to the show, enjoying the music and not having to worry about a bunch of fucking idiots bumping into you

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 3:02 PM

well all these bands are boring and terrible and/or terribly boring, with the exception of Jay Reatard, who is a huge prick and won't translate well in this kind of situation anyway, so I don't know how much "fun" you will have.

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 4:41 PM

Awww, looks like 4:41 pooed his pants. ; (

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 4:46 PM

I'm glad all the nay sayers will be staying away, leaves more room for people who will enjoy the "boring and terrible and/or terribly boring" bands. Stay in Billyburg!

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 5:01 PM

501. did you get that response out of a catalog? it's a real chestnut

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 5:10 PM

Wow! That was awkward, and pretty lackluster. Zero energy most of the night throughout the 2/3 capacity crowd. Ending with "Rocks off" was an interesting choice. It just showed how shot Britt's voice is at this point in his career. The show started off fairly strong and then took a nosedive 35 minutes into the set. Many many people left early. Crowd was chattering throughout...no one really gave a sh*t.

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 10:45 PM

as predicted...

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 10:49 PM

Spoon are a great band, just not live. Not that they are bad, they just are not the most exciting band. Definitely not worth $35.

Unfortunately with everyone stealing albums nowadays, bands must charge more.

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2008 11:18 PM

"must", eh?

hmmm. I disagree. 5000 tickets at $35 is $175,000

even if they're getting less than half of that, Spoon are making around $80,000 a show. I think they could live on less!

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2008 12:04 AM

you think Spoon gets $80,000

mwahahaha

you have no fucking clue how things work dude.

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2008 12:25 AM

they probably make more at a show like tonight's, I was being conservative.

that said, they'll make less at a show in a smaller city.

I certainly do know how things work. I've been in the music "biz" for many years. Who the hell are you?
