i hear mixed reviews as to whether or not the singer is a head case. not that it matters to me; i care more about whether or not the music is good ha.

head case, yes. live shows (music) could either be great or bad (long jam sessions).

Anton may be an asshole, but he is a musical genius, I saw them a couple years back in Munich and they played a fantastic set. It was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. And Antons rambling was actually quite entertaining...

If you are basing your opinion on Anton from Dig!, then you are the asshole.

what time does BJM go on?

I wasn't there but heard BJM were good last night. How deep and far back did they dig in their catalog? Anybody gotta setlist?

Good? thats being generous. ive seen these guys 10 times and i can say anton was his usual self. He brought his A-game in the begining but "A" gradually changed to "Z" as the night went on while anton sipped from entire bottle of vodka.

In the begining he was top notch, playing the usual songs like Whoever You Are, Hide and Seek, When Jokers Attack, Nevertheless (although having to stop midway because of broken bass string).

However, I knew the show was beyond repair when he irately had to stop the music and teach the new bass player how to play That Girl Suicide. More Anton being the slightly enebriated control freak than bass player's fault. This was after Anton had left the stage for 10 minutes while his band droned into one of the night's many jam sessions, hoping he would come back. He had reemerged from his dissapearance, wiping his nose (he claimed he had a "cold").

Towards the end the casual DIG! fans left while the diehards stayed to yell out "Play some music!" or "Get it together!" which only made anton more aggravated. He went on his usual slurred rants that involved Obama and Mcain and how he thinks both are clowns. He ranted on the economy and stock market crisis/jobless people. He also voiced his brooklyn resentment by speaking about the last time they did show there and got their equipment stolen, then ranting about all the other bands that had their stuff stolen in brooklyn.

Typical BJM show.

I dunno...I miss the drunken mess, cigarette slingin' Joel days. He was a great comic foil to Anton's insanity.
