Broken Social Scene - Lollapalooza pics & NYC TICKETS

photos by Bao Nguyen

BSS @ Lollapalooza

We've been following Broken Social Scene all over the place lately. Way back when there was Bonnaroo. Then Sled Island. Then there were the two NYC shows - Mercury Lounge and the Siren Festival. Finally there was this past weekend which included a performance in Montreal at the Osheaga Festival, and a show in Chicago at the Lollapalooza Festival. Stars' Amy Millan joined them on stage in Chicago and Montreal.

Tickets are now on sale for Broken Social Scene's next NYC show. More pictures from Lolla below...

Who the hell dressed the bass player? And why hasn't he been beaten severely? Seriously, do these guys always go out of their way to look like hipster douchebags?

This show is going to be great.

They cultivated the look that all the hipsters try so hard to emulate.

how dare he wear a tanktop on a hot summer day.

You WISH you could rock those Penguin shades like Kevin Drew! How could anyone hate on BSS? They write great music and are cool, down to earth guys. Go pick on Dan Deacon...he deserves it!

Thank you JELLY, I can't wait for the masonic show, it will be the only good thing about CMJ this year.

How good is this for me. I can walk to this great show. Lovely how things work out sometimes.

Brendan Canning can wear whatever he wants because he's just that awesome. So what, they don't wear the coolest outfits sometimes (trust me, have you seen Amy Millan's outfits?) but it's their musical talents that should blow you away. They can kick any trendy looking band's asses easily.

I don't care what 12:41 says, he CANNOT wear a Speedo.

I have tried, and tried, and tried to like these guys. I have failed. They are by turns either really annoying or just simply dull. I know I'm in the minority here. Any help, folks? Any songs I should hear that might change my mind?

Brendan Canning is like a 40 year old dude who listens to Dino Jr and hard rock... I'm pretty sure that's just how he dresses... it's not some hipster thing. And yeah Amy Millan is gorgeous in an unconventional kinda way.

This show was pretty incredible. They opened with PACIFIC THEME!!! and closed with ITS ALL GONNA BREAK!!! But the afterparty was where it was really at. Yeasayer opened for them. It was the best show I have ever seen.

was it as good as the "Human Milk" show they played with Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg that the dodos opened for at the No1 Legion for Sled Island Festival? becasue im pretty sure that was the best show i have ever seen, and it might never happen again!

Brendan canning can wear whatever he wants.. the reason that no one has beaten him up is that if an asshole like you stepped up I would break every bone in you're body sweetheart...

BSS is the bomb... wish I could have been there...
