Chad VanGaalen - new album & MP3

DOWNLOAD: Chad VanGaalen - Willow Tree (MP3)

Chad VanGaalen

Recorded primarily on an old tape machine and a JVC ghetto blaster in Chad's Calgary basement, Soft Airplane retains the handmade charm and singular character of his previous records, while incorporating new layers of sophistication and weight.
I haden't listened to Chad VanGaalen for a while before hearing this new track that instantly reminded me why I became a fan in the first place. "Soft Airplane" is out on Sub Pop on September 9th. "Willow Tree" is the first track. Full track list below...

Weird. I was just reading an old Grizzly Bear interview where they talk about liking Chad's 1st record on Sub Pop and I realized that I hadn't listened to it in a long time.

He's got a song called "TMNT Mask".....

I can't wait for this one, and I mean that.

my name is chad and I can't think that his name is awesome. It sounds soap operaish and douchey at the same time. This record is sickr. Dan Vigil from the west coast (SF) sounds alot like this. Totally sick and totally hot. Google this guy. He is the up and coming Chad Vangaalen.

Chad is consistently great; I can't wait for this new album. Flemish Eye rarely disappoints and I second the love for Women (Chad produced their album). I've seen CV live a few times and he's always been excellent, and very entertaining.
