CMJ announces intial 2008 marathon & panel lineup

CMJ (like SXSW) is an annual NYC music festival that consists of many shows in all of the traditional venues. It takes place this year from October 21-25th. Broken Social Scene at Masonic Temple is a CMJ show. Crystal Castles / Fujiya & Miyagi / Who Made Who at Webster Hall is a CMJ show. They Might Be Giants at (le) poisson rouge is a CMJ show. Individual tickets are sold for those shows or you can attempt to get into them with your CMJ festival badge which also gets you into all the daytime panels (the educational stuff). CMJ officially announced the following today:

2008 will continue that tradition, with CMJ Music Marathon highlighting the best new music first, featuring performances from artists that span genres including alternative, rock, electronic, hip-hop, metal, Americana, world, jazz and so much more.
