what time are dirty projectors supposed to go on? and the actual time. i don't want to get there a minute early as to make sure i have maximum time sitting in front of my computer alone avoiding being social in the real world.

I also want to know what time the Dirty Projectors will be going on. And about how long their set will be. I know it's hard to tell at this point, but I do have to commute.

"dirty projectors or 200 guitarists ? "

No offense to DP, but the 200 guitars could be a once in a lifetime event.

The massive lightning bolt that cracked over the water during that pause after the first chorus of "Imagine It" made the fact that they had to stop playing right after "Imagine It" worth it.

Best band alive.

so the show went on last night? what was the scene? I'm assuming lots of umbrellas and pauses. how long did the band end up playing? new material? thx.

Posted by Diddy | August 16, 2008 9:53 AM

9:53: Yes, it did. Quite a few umbrellas and ponchos, although that died down as the concert went on. The show didn't start until almost 8, and had to end at 9 because it was getting too dangerous with the lightning and all. I'm assuming there was some new material, or at least some songs that I didn't recognize. Dave did talk a bit about his new album, though.

That lightning bolt after the pause was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen at a show! Angel (sigh! in tight shorts? jesus...) called it a once in a lifetime moment. It's the stuff AC/DC can only dream of.

It seemed over cautious to stop the show. The lightning had actually stopped by then, making it a particularly mystifying decision.

They played one "new" song that they played at Williamshall Musicburg a few months back. Other than that nothing "new". But yes, best band, best band.

Also, the rain meant that you could actually watch the show without having a sea of digital cameras hovering in front of you the whole time.
