|| FIASCO TOUR KICKOFF
|| 2 stages!

|| NINJA SONIK
|||| FIASCO
|||||| THE HOMOSEXUALS
|||||||| Pony Pants
|||||||||| So So Glos
|||||||||||| Bat Attack

It took me a while to take Fiasco seriously. Well, it took me until I finally saw them live a few months ago when they opened for No Age @ Bowery Ballroom. I guess I didn't want to pay attention because they were lumped into the "kids rock" thing. It never bothered me that one of them has a really cool dad.

Impose is going to release their album "Native Canadians" on October 14th. See them tonight in Brooklyn with Ninja Sonik and The Homosexuals and others (see above). See them on tour (dates below), and see more pictures from the show they played Saturday night (August 2, 2008) with Monotonix at Bodega (below too)...

Fiasco kicks ass

Posted by un:art:ig | August 5, 2008 4:29 PM

Wow, now THAT's what I call a rip-off of Lightning Bolt.

lA+me

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 4:35 PM

I it's funny how myopenbar sponsored this party, and if you were to go by just those handful of pictures above, it doesnt look like anyone there was older than 16

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 4:37 PM

lightning bolt wha??? these guys sound literally nothign liek lightning bolt

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 4:47 PM

Myopenbar gave different colored wristbands depending on ages. Yellow for kids under 21, pink for kids over 21.

Fiasco are a part of a great "kid-rock" scene that doesn't include the usual grouping of Tiny Masters and Care Bears on Fire. There is Radiates, Starscream, Mighty Handful, Runtime Error, The Crayons...

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 4:52 PM

They did the middle third of Oh You Horny Monster completely acapella

it was awesome!

Posted by THEMIGHTYHANDFUL | August 5, 2008 5:01 PM

hey! those are the kids from the crayons there in the audience!

Coolest 13 year olds i've ever met!

Posted by oldfart | August 5, 2008 5:15 PM

"kid-rock" scene

There are so many jokes in that i would not know where to start. Although Fiasco is actually pretty decent they got a ways to go.

Also is there any truth to the rumor about Lucian Buscemi and Leia Jospe? The "kid-rock" scene network is blowing up about this. Trying to get the scoop.

Posted by intrepid reporter | August 5, 2008 5:16 PM

this band is amazing!

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 5:32 PM

"Also is there any truth to the rumor about Lucian Buscemi and Leia Jospe? The 'kid-rock' scene network is blowing up about this. Trying to get the scoop."

If you're over 18, you're a creep for asking.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 5:53 PM

"it's funny how myopenbar sponsored this party, and if you were to go by just those handful of pictures above, it doesnt look like anyone there was older than 16"

Myopenbar doesn't sponsor parties, dumbass. They throw them.

Posted by myopenbar | August 5, 2008 5:55 PM

this looks very safe and pre fab.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 6:13 PM

"Myopenbar doesn't sponsor parties, dumbass. They throw them."

As proven by this comment, myopenbar are also jerks (who "throw" "parties" to get names on their mailing list)

I knew there was truth to the rumour. A fiasco of a completely different type is going on between these 2. I wonder when the AP will pick up the story.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 6:23 PM

kids or not, fiasco is a fuckin terrible band.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 6:25 PM

Care to elaborate?

Posted by Leia Joape | August 5, 2008 7:06 PM

isn't one of them bv's intern?

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2008 9:57 PM

anyone who is trashing fiasco should at least download the song at the top of the page to justify what they are saying

Posted by luciolucio | August 5, 2008 10:04 PM

anyone see the mad tweener girl-vs-girl makeout?

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 12:10 AM

Steve Buscemi was a firefighter. How can he let his son perform in a deathtrap!

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 12:16 AM

Actually, at least two of them have cool dads (I don't actually know who the third kid's dad is). Joe Holmes (Julian's dad) is a kickass photographer, check out http://joesnyc.streetnine.com.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 12:36 AM

i don't think any of them are interns here

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 2:11 AM

"lightning bolt wha??? these guys sound literally nothign liek lightning bolt"

Have you ever heard Lightning Bolt? This is a total rip-off of them. To say they sound nothing like LB is assinine.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 9:06 AM

I love LB, and admit they are a one trick pony who are amazing to witness live. The song linked to this post is a heavy handed LB rip. No question. It sounds like some kids who love LB and wanted to cover LB, but had 4 band members so they had to add in a few more parts to the song. I haven't heard their other stuff, but this song=LB.

I never get too excited about the copy cat bands. They do however sound fun and maybe if they stay together for a while they will go on and do their own thing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 10:00 AM

haha this doesn't sound like lightning bolt. maybe it sounds a little LIKE lightning bolt. don't you hear so much more to it though? anyways, I like these guys better, their music is much more dynamic and interesting. plus there's 3 members, not 4

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 11:15 AM

"Myopenbar doesn't sponsor parties, dumbass. They throw them."

I mean, though I guess that is the case and I was wrong (though I feel that maybe in the past they have sponsored a party they themselves did not throw) that really kind of irrelevant to the point I was making. I think it's funny that a party closely associated with myopenbar had only sixteen year-olds if you were going solely by those 15 pictures in this post.

I realize there were probably older people there and that it was all ages (which I think is great).

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 11:40 AM

blah blah blah.

FIASCO IS AWESOME.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2008 12:12 PM

Fiasco suck

Posted by asdasldk | August 6, 2008 2:18 PM

Yeah, I don't get all the hype, Fiasco are extremely overrated.

Posted by Spectrum | August 6, 2008 3:34 PM

I read in a book that the Mighty Handful is better than everything
even science

Posted by THEMIGHTYHANDFUL | August 6, 2008 9:46 PM

All the hype, good, bad, they are still underrated. These can play those instruments, and can put on a show. Its scary to imagine how much better they will be in a year.

Posted by flakeycake | August 6, 2008 9:56 PM

fiasco is so good. they r great guys too.

the other day i saw the crayons at cakeshop and they r so good 2.

crayons + fiasco should play more shows together it would work

Posted by silly goose | August 7, 2008 12:11 AM

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 4:15 PM

Nepotism at its worst.

Posted by Da Troof | August 16, 2008 9:02 AM

yesssss this band is amazing

Posted by Anonymous | August 19, 2008 1:17 AM

Fact of the matter is, if Steve Buscemi's son was not in this band, no one would know who they are because, quite frankly, they are not doing anything ground breaking or particularly interesting. It's been done.

Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2008 2:12 PM

The two above comments are untrue!!
The drummer and guitarist are far better musicians than Steve Buscemi's son and should be recognized. vFiasco would still be where they are today even if Buscemi's kid wasn't in the band. I mean the drummer's got CRAZY chops and the tightest snare I've ever seen and the guitarist can fucking sing and do these insane tapping lines at the same time, he's like Marnie Stern or some shit, the next guitar hero. And Buscemi holds it all together with his simple playing, he's certainly not bad. But it's the sound they all make together that matters, not whose father one person is.
Whether you happen to like it or not, Fiasco are making interesting, challenging music and in a couple years will probably be even more technically skilled.
(and are not Lightning Bolt rip-offs... have you people evn heard that band?)
Fuck the haters
-QB.

LIGHTNING BOLT RIP-OFFS???
hahahahahahaha
that song oh your horny monster sounds more like dancey hella anyway, specially at da end.. fuckin sweet.
ah.... lightning bolt ripoffs... i'm still laughing.

mad goooood.

Posted by add/drop | August 27, 2008 2:41 PM

the new albums gonna be sick!
i now all of them, really nice guys an very humble about ther success, not assholes like many bands.
crazy music!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2008 5:51 PM

I wanna FUCK the guitarist.
he FUCKS his guitar SO HARD, he WHIPS it and STRANGLES it.
i've seen him do it. they rock

Posted by evilurges | August 27, 2008 7:58 PM

dey some crazy ass niggazzzz

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 1:01 AM

this isn't good music, it's fucking noise.

Posted by mrkungfu | August 29, 2008 1:34 AM

and not noise in a good or particularly innovative way, i can appreciate noise if it's good, but this is bullshit. fuck fiasco.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 10:52 AM

i dont usually hate on bands, but i gotta go with the haters on this one. as a lover of music i have to say fiasco, while they can play their instruments, are not doing anything new and innovative. and i dont think they deserve all this 'blog' press they've been getting. the kitsch factor hasn't done much for me lately, and i really dont look towards fiasco as any sort of groundbreaking or awe inspiring act.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 11:14 AM

fiasco fucking brings it

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 11:57 AM

If y'all can name a better band of 17-year olds, be mah fucking guest.
And they're not one trick ponys like so many of these other older bands
They can switch it up, they don't stick to one style
It is awe-inspiring to see such young people be so creative

Posted by twittertime | August 29, 2008 12:37 PM

yah seriously if you "don't usually hate on bands", why are you wasting your time posting it? obviusly something about them must have caught your attention if your taking time out of the day just to write how much you hate them..
even for ppl who hate them, fiasco are good at getting people's attention, which is important 4 a band.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 7:04 PM

It is people like mrkungfu that give music criticism a bad name. If all you can say is "they're overrated" or "it's fucking noise" without backing your statement up

Fiasco are great at what they do whether you like it or not, I've seen them progress from their first album.
I detect a lot of envy from people who are quick to call them a "copy cat band" when they probably have just heard the one song at the top of the page.
Try seeing a show before talking about how much their supposed "kitsch factor" annoys you.
Love,
The Gyroscope

Posted by thegyroscope | August 29, 2008 7:14 PM

the nerdy looking guitarist is trying to be trendy and pretentious by wearing a country blues and bluegrass shirt, music he probably knows nothing about.
the bassist just looks likea melodramatic asshole who craves attention just cause hes gotta famous dad.
the drummer resembles an anorexic woman.
there's nothing redeeming about their music.
they suck.
end of story.

Posted by tiaje7777 | August 29, 2008 7:19 PM

wow. there are some stupid and jealous people posting here.
they're really a great band, it's sad to see these posts by people with nothing better to do.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 8:04 PM

Posted by mpbeat | August 29, 2008 10:00 PM

they're playing CMJ, they must be doin' something right!

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 11:05 PM

FIASCO IS SEXY. Their music makes me hot.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2008 11:56 PM

To tiaje777,
Do you actually know anyone in Fiasco? I don't, but I'm not about to make some off-handed comment about how each of them look, assuming multiple things about them that may or may not be true.
You come off as, quite possibly, the most jealous hateful prick ever.
Try to make a comment about the music, not what the band looks like.
My two cents: Fiasco has unbelievable talent for their age. The fact that Steve Buscemi's son is in the band has no bearing on how incredibly insane they are as a functional unit. They seem to be redefining what a rock trio can do in terms of composition and loudness. I look forward to hearing and seeing more from them.

Posted by M. Ashe | August 31, 2008 1:31 AM

they make da ground shake homie.
bitches be on they DICKKKS

"Fact of the matter is, if Steve Buscemi's son was not in this band, no one would know who they are because, quite frankly, they are not doing anything ground breaking or particularly interesting. It's been done."

True True

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2008 2:23 PM

udontbringit,
Explain how it is nepotism at its worst, instead of simply repeating what has been said.
Did Steve Buscemi get them all their shows? Signed to Impose? Lots of fans?
No, they did it themselves by playing awesome music and putting themselves out there.
People may pay more attention to them for the fact that his son is in the band, but it still doesn't mean he is to account for their success.

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2008 2:30 PM

they fucking KILL EVERYBODY yo, they're like a mindfucking assault of awesomeness.
trust me. I've seen them like 15 times.

They take the cake.

YOU ARE ALL JELLUS BAI NOW.

Posted by kangaroo smacka son. | August 31, 2008 9:21 PM

yo mrkungfu, aren't you the one who gets pissed off when people offend you? so much so that you're willing to alienate your own fans?

ok, now remember the golden rule?

can we maybe connect these two thoughts?

Posted by JUDOFLIP | August 31, 2008 9:37 PM

yeah yo what's with all the fiasco hatin'?
they're really really good at what they're doing.
some may not like it, but you can't say they don't got skills..

Posted by HQsubbysan | August 31, 2008 9:42 PM

The guitar player is otherwordly- his technique is impeccable. I saw them in D.C. He seemed to transcend the real world, he was so focused!
I've never seen someone with so much energy and passion for the music they were playing while still being able to play these unbelievable parts.
The drummer only had a bass drum, a snare drum, a hi hat and a ride cymbal, his hands were furious!
The key to their success from what I've heard is that their songs are really catchy, but are very well put together and make you think.
Fiasco will be BIG in a couple years; that's my prediction.

Posted by villy88 | August 31, 2008 10:47 PM

"Did Steve Buscemi get them all their shows? Signed to Impose? Lots of fans?"

Yes, Yes and Yes.

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2008 11:03 PM

DOGSTAR is a great band! The fact that Keanu Reeves is in the band has absolutely nothing to do with their success.

Posted by Trinity | August 31, 2008 11:05 PM

As a fan of Fiasco myself, and a knowledgeable "scenester" I hereby denounce any rumors by saying that hardly any (if not none) of Fiasco's fans like Fiasco because of Lucian's dad.
Steve himself does none of the promoting (except for that one instance in Bosnia), and for most people who know who they are, it isn't an apparent fact. Everyone in Fiasco has been in bands since they were in 5th grade. Coming into Fiasco, they already had a small fanbase from a few schools. As they grew over the last 4 years, their fanbase did too. They don't have to mention Steve Buscemi to get booked, and they probably never did. Besides, since when do hipsters care about famous people?
Using his fame to cheaply promote his son's band would be an insult to Buscemi's character. He's too humble to do something that cheap.
And yes, I do know him.

Posted by max | August 31, 2008 11:39 PM

"Did Steve Buscemi get them all their shows? Signed to Impose? Lots of fans?"

Yes, Yes and Yes.

To whomever said that,
Prove it.
You assume that you know for certain that this all occurred, as if you saw it all happen... so explain exactly how it happened.
Or are you just going to repeat, "Nepotism at its worst!" again like that explains everything?

"Envy is ignorance." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Think about it. Do you actually, truly know what you're talking about? ... Or just assuming?
L.B.

Posted by LB4 | September 1, 2008 1:39 AM

"DOGSTAR is a great band! The fact that Keanu Reeves is in the band has absolutely nothing to do with their success."

That's the worst analogy I've ever heard.
Keanu Reeves is a famous actor, Buscemi's kid is not.
Good one.
And Dogstar sucks.
Fiasco is just plain awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 1:43 AM

This fight is getting ridiculous (no pun intended)!!!
But I will fight on the side of Fiasco.
They're really talented nice people.
So fuck anyone who's tryina diss them, you just look like idiots.
This article's supposed to be for people who care about the MUSIC, not Steve Buscemi or his son or what the band looks like.
The music is groundbreaking, literally and figuratively. It fucking rocks.
Just wait till they get outa high school- they're gonna be everywhere.
You haters would've kept your mouth shut!
K.

Posted by Ktele | September 1, 2008 2:13 AM

DOGSTAR IS FUCKING GREAT! I like Fiasco too, but Fuck You Dogstar haters!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 11:39 AM

The Strokes are a great band, and they had no connections... now they are famous.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 11:41 AM

It's presumptuous of you to declare Fiasco "groundbreaking, literally and figuratively" and assume "Dogstar sucks". Dogstar sells out huge venues. People like them. They're really nice people. Check your facts and your ego before you chime in rich boy, you're not so talented.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 11:48 AM

"People may pay more attention to them for the fact that his son is in the band" -You said it, not I

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 11:50 AM

Fiasco sucks! ENough!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 1:04 PM

Fiasco are a fucking weak imitation of Lightning Bolt and any one who says they are"catchy" is fucking retarded. Just some dumb kids playing doodley fretboard crap. look at these pics- the audience doesn't care- there's one staged stage dive. Seriously, everyone in these pics couldn't give two shits- just look at them.
Now, Fiasco are posting their own comments on a two month old post that no body reads anymore.

Posted by get real police | September 1, 2008 1:06 PM

if you were actually at that show you'd know that people were going nuts! i was there and people loved it!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 1:30 PM

well of course there were people going crazy. it's all of those high school hipster wannabes.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 2:48 PM

ugh i just heard this for the first time. this is really amateur hour here. about 7 years too late too. i wish them the best of luck. they're going to need it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 3:25 PM

3:25 just put serious personal time into dissing the creative output of three 16 year olds.

bravo dude, you're cool!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:15 PM

Fiasco must be going somewhere as a band because they're getting panned by anonymous fools on Brooklyn Vegan comments.

don't you know already that that's the first step towards certain fame in the current day indie rock business?

Just look at No Age, or Dan Deacon, or High Places, or Vivian Girls, or Matt and Kim, or...

Fiasco, if you're out there, read these clueless idiots' critical diarrhea as proof positive that you're on the right road!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:20 PM

"Fiasco, if you're out there, read these clueless idiots' critical diarrhea as proof positive that you're on the right road!"

I'm sure they have, and are laughing.
If they haven't, somebody should notify them about this, I bet they'd get a kick out of it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:28 PM

I saw Fiasco a long time ago, at the Cake Shop. I really thought they were the worst band I had seen in a long time. They have no songs, and they're incredibly UN-talented for the average 16 year old punk rock band. BUT someone in the audience told me it was Steve Buscemi's son. That changed everything. Now I love them! I love them because I love Stevie B!

Posted by Sean Lennon | September 1, 2008 4:29 PM

wrong, wrong and completely full of shit. wrong.
they're not an imitation of LB, they're definitely catchy, the audience does care, people do give two shits.
that's why they have awesome shows.

Posted by Mr. T | September 1, 2008 4:32 PM

Bands like FIasco make me sick! And this stuff about them being great musicians for 16 year olds is bullshit! Any decent musician can HEAR they're little rich brats, riding daddys money to the top, and the music is unimaginative and virtually uncreative in every way. Hell, listen to the production of "their work". It's awful. Couldn't your daddy buy you a tutor for your pro-tools. IF my daddy bought me Pro-tools at age 16, I'd freakin learn how to use it!!! They're music sounds like it's straight off a 4 track. Have Steve pay someone to mix you music better, then get back to me.

cheers!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:38 PM

I hear Michael Imperiolis band- La Dolce Vita is awesome! or they suck, but people watch cause he was on the sopranos. I can't remember... oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:43 PM

HEY EVERYONE! I know Fiasco, and they're really nice dudes. Don't hate them because they're super-connected! They're nice dudes. So their music sucks, and they don't have much to offer in the talent department. Who cares

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:45 PM

Their new album Native Canadians is going to be unbelievable, it comes out in October. And they are really nice people, not "rich brats" so to all the jealous people who don't know them, shut your fucking douchebag faces.

Posted by ChanR. | September 1, 2008 4:53 PM

"The Strokes are a great band, and they had no connections... now they are famous."

The Strokes are one of the most "unimaginative and virtually uncreative" bands in rock history, NOT Fiasco.
Fiasco know how to play their fucking instruments, and they don't just stand around looking bored playing 2nd generation Velvet Underground hipster bullshit .
Once again,
FUCK THE HATERS.
Fiasco, I love you guys!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 4:56 PM

unlike his father, lucien actually *looks* like a popstar.

just sayin'

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 5:18 PM

I'll say it again.
If y'all can name a BETTER band of 17-year olds, let me know who they are.
I know it's easy to criticize them because they're much younger, but they rock with the best of their contemporaries. Shit, it's just impressive, is what it is. Makes you feel good watching them.

"It's presumptuous of you to declare Fiasco "groundbreaking, literally and figuratively" and assume "Dogstar sucks". Dogstar sells out huge venues. People like them. They're really nice people. Check your facts and your ego before you chime in rich boy, you're not so talented."

I never said Dogstar sucked. I never even assumed they suck.
So fuck yourself.

Fiasco makes me dick hard, yeah i said it.

"If y'all can name a BETTER band of 17-year olds"

ModRocket is better.

Fiasco is boring and unimaginative music for ignorant little boys.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2008 11:58 PM

HAHAHAHA
modrocket isn't a band anymore.
and if they were, they would still suck.
they're the ones who play REALLLY boring and unimaginative music that, quite simply, sounds like really bad pop.
fiasco always keeps it interesting and unpredictable, that's something needs nowadays..
haha modrocket better than fiasco?
hahahaha

ModRocket broke up?

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 12:18 AM

The dudes in Fiasco are also in other bands that are really awesome. The drummer and bass guitarist are in Runtime Error

http://www.myspace.com/rteny

and the guitarist is in Banzai

http://www.myspace.com/banzainewyork

Both are really great, interesting to hear them play different instruments outside of Fiasco.

Guys this has been an article for almost a month.
Give it a rest.
Fiasco rules.
End of argument.

Shapes are better myspace.com/shapesband

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 10:09 AM

Shapes are great! They're only 17? These kids really know how to play!

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 11:46 AM

so do fiasco!
and much better and more creatively.

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 1:57 PM

Those two other bands are not as good as Fiasco, sorry.

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 2:09 PM

You're all crazy!!! The kid in Push Play's mother is a famous actor! You're comparing two SHIT bands that only offer nepotism and neither can pull off a good song to save their lives! Both of these bands are retarded!

CAN ANYONE NAME A BAND OF 16 YEAR OLDS THAT ARE GOOD, THAT ARE NOT RELATED TO SOME FAMOUS ACTOR???

This is just sad.

Posted by TRUTH AND HONESTY | September 2, 2008 2:25 PM

The immature cretin quality of the hate on this thread is testament to the apparent fact that when you're a band getting some deserved and/or random attention and you're 16 years old, then that means the inevitable jealous hater backlashers are ALSO 16 years old, so the whole conversation is even more bitchy and inane and childish than the Brooklyn Vegan break-a-band-then-pan-it cycle usually is.

Whatever, Fiasco are talented kids I'm sure Fiasco will run it's course and those guys will go on to be in even better bands when they're older. Fiasco itself will undoubtedly become one of those Deep Wound style defunct bands that people fight over on Ebay.

Buscemi Kid, if you're out there and reading- welcome to the next twenty years of your critical success. I'd try opening a pizzaria, or a smoothie king instead of the artworld for a living. It doesn't sound like your friends like your music! It's obvious that's who is bothering with this retarded blog. Personally, i think all the bands above suck, for any age group! I dont care who their parents are.

What about a career in shipping or retail?

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 2:51 PM

can you idiots leave a fucking kid alone?

it's not his fault who is parents are, or whether people give him special attention or dis him harder because of it.

fact is, Fiasco has never tried to bank on the fact that dude's dad is an actor.

bottom line, attack Steve Buscemi all you like, he's an adult with a successful career and a public persona, but the kid in the and is just that, a kid just trying to make music. He may get some advantages that he has no control over because of his parents, but does he deserve to be eviscerated extra hard just because his dad's a famous guy? That's just a shitty thing to do to a kid, 2:51.

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 3:02 PM

I love most of his movies. He is truly, one of the finest actors of our time. Ghost world is my favorite!

ModRocket broke up? Why?

Posted by Iheartmodrocket | September 2, 2008 4:48 PM

push play sound like some generic top 40 bullshit that 10 year old girls fawn over in magazines.
musically, they are a speck of dust on a bigger speck of dust on yet an even bigger speck of dust on a food particle in a large pile of horse shit compared to the looming behemoth wrecking ball of insanity that is fiasco.
"pushplayrox"??? no, they don't.

and fiasco have gotten no advantages- they got onto their record label by themselves, got their shows and fans by themselves, by playing good music. i know this for a fact. steve b. stays out of it, i've never seen him at a show.
all the people hating probably haven't even been to a show of theirs, so therefore, should shut the fuck up.

Posted by you people are idiots. | September 2, 2008 4:49 PM

modrocket broke up because they are all going to college, or something like that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 8:16 PM

I don't blame Steve Buscemi for making Fiasco as popular as they are, i blame idiots like you for soaking up in the bullshit that they play, i have been to a show and the energy is great and they are perfectly nice kids, but the music still leaves something to desire. It isn't half as interesting or innovative as people give them credit for.

i am not saying that Fiasco are a bad band, they are whatever, but can someone else agree that they are wildly overrated and over hyped.

Posted by Anonymous | September 2, 2008 8:22 PM

overrated? they're a basically unsigned band playing small shows in Brooklyn. Not a real high rating on em yet, dude.

Give the kids a chance, no one has said they're the best band around or anything, they've got growing to do, sure, but they're got promise, moments of greatness.

But this diabolical effort to slam these kids before they get anywhere at all is just out of control. Find something else to do with your time, haters!

go slam somebody who's really overrated, like Tegan and Sara or She and Him or some bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 3:48 AM

Living in Oblivion was a great Steve Buscemi movie.

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 9:41 AM

Are you a trans or a res?

Posted by Chet | September 3, 2008 9:44 AM

Domestic Disturbance was a good Steve Buscemi movie too!

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 9:53 AM

`who ar the other kids in Fiasco related to? Anyone good?

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 10:45 AM

Fargo!

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 11:48 AM

they're not unsigned, but they are awesome!

Posted by Anonymous | September 3, 2008 12:51 PM

Saw them yesterday at Death By Audio.
Holy shit.
Holy fucking shit, is all I gotta say.
Tight ass band.
