Grand Archives = Sub Pop, ex-Carissa's Wierd, ex-Band of Horses:

grand archives album is okay, but live, they're way off. maybe it was partly the sound guys fault, but it just wasn't a good show.

Grand Archives have definitely been better, but I don't care what anyone else says, Violens were hitting on all cylinders Friday night. Great show.

good harmonies, yeah sure, in theory, but the show in friday was horrible and cringe worthy.

i like grand archives. Not as much as I love Band of Horses though.
On the album cover front, if it counts, Grand Archive have the most beautiful in recent years.

Violens were pretty sloppy when I saw them with Grizzly Bear. The guitar player just used a lot of delay/echo and kind of sucks. The drummer is great though. Bass player looks like he used to play guitar or just learned bass. Not very good musicians over all.
boring!

What if Grand Archives and The National got together and formed The National Archives? They could totally get government sponsorship... Oh wait, this isn't Canada.

I saw Violens open for Grizzly Bear as well, and I thought they were pretty good. Definitely enough there for me to want to listen again/see where they go.
Also:
"violens wasn't that impressive either. sorry. but it's true."
I mean, I would necessarily say that's true. Sounds more like opinion to me.

I Grand Archives. They had a very good performance. The National is one of the last bands I would want to see anyone collaborate with.

Grey Reigning was an excellent song, and Jorge's voice is unlike any other. Also, saying something "wasn't that impressive" indicates impressive-ness, not so much that it was especially impressive, but impressive non-the-less. I need a life
