Iron and Wine @ Lollpalooza

"Iron & Wine seem to get even more boring every time I see them live. I yearn for the days when Sam Beam's music was a more captivating folk, and less of an alt-country jam band" [Under the Rotunda]
That's not good. Their next NYC is potentially not very good either because it's at the very large Terminal 5 (tix). Or maybe it will be good. All tour dates HERE. More Lollapalooza pics and the setlist too, below...

Totally agree with that guy, I was snoozing throughout the whole set! The only saving grace was catching a few Eli Reed songs standing on a ridiculously long water line.

And because I'm lazy and don't feel like clicking into another post, Okkervil River was amazing although Will Sheff is pretty spooky looking. I guess you can't sell your soul to the devil in exchange for great songs and hope to get out with your completely in tact.

he didn't suck at Bonnaroo.

i'd love for him to record his next lp at home on a four-track. his first album was ethereal and intimate and haunting, but i don't know if it's possible to make something that affecting again without purposefully doing so...

Why? Because every fucking douche bag wants 'wacky' bands like Crystal Castles and whoeverelsepitchforkisjizzingover? Bands that couldn't write a timeless song if their life depended on it.

i'm sorry but sam beam has always been boring. just like little wings will always be boring. people like them because they're boring.

11:14 PM, will sheff is creepy looking in an appealing way.

also 10:07. necessary? I think not. especially since you're not actually saying anything logical.

that keyboardist is a looker

Yuck. Iron and Wine is/are only slightly more boring than Bonnie Prince Billy.

Got the look down though.

Definitely didn't suck at Bonnaroo. I quite enjoy the alt-country focus with the tendency to stretch the songs out. The opposite of boring, if you ask me. Keeps things interesting and fresh each time you see him and his band.
