Love & Rockets @ Lollapalooza - pics, video, setlist & MP3s

Frontman Daniel Ash -- dressed in a Keith Richards pirate motif -- cooed and moaned lyrics about obsession over hot slabs of roaring bass riffs ("No Big Deal") and pulsating goth rock ("Haunted When the Minutes Drag"). They even made some room for some heavy metal theatrics. It was a nice nod to Lollapalooza's past, as Love and Rockets are the sort of band that its founder wanted to spread to the masses with his festival in the first place. Yawn. Who cares when dinosaur goth bands reunite? Especially when they don't play their one and only good song.

We tried -- they brought nothing to the table live, and stupid for not playing their biggest hit for the youngsters there.

If you're referring to So Alive, it's because that's lame. I would've preferred to hear Motorcycle.

I would love to see this band in New York. And I wouldn't mind them skipping "So Alive" for a better tune.

I'm somewhat surprised to hear that they didn't bring anything to the table live. In their heyday, they were great live, both in clubs and stadiums.

HEre's how I see it. There are true fans like myself, and young fans that unfortunately want to hear their worst song.
ALL YOU YOUNGSTERS: go out and buy Sweet F.A> right now. It's on my top 10 albums of ALL TIME. Forget so alive that was dreck. 'Motorcycle' is much better.

saw Rockets at Lolla and hadn't seen then in over 10 years. Thought I was in for a nostalgia act but gotta say, they were arguably the best set in the entire 3 days.

stayed up front of stage all day to see NIN, had no idea what to expect from these guys, couldn't even remember that hit "So Alive" but I was really impressed by what I heard, made a fan of me
