"an" not "a"

>>>"an" not "a"
I guess it depends how you pronounce it. I write "a NYC" because I read it "a New York City".
In google there are
about 1,060,000 results for "a NYC"
&
about 247,000 results for "an NYC"
(if that's what you were referring to)

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable when they see someone rocking out on a bow-required stringed instrument and/or futuristic PoMo cello?
Posted by snowah | August 19, 2008 2:27 PM
That chick can rock out on my futuristic PoMp cello any day of the week son.

I loved their EP and their live performances but is anyone else underwhelmed by The Rhumb Line? It has 4 EP songs (Dying Is Fine is better on the EP, IMO) and 1 Kate Bush cover (which is awful) making this album have only 5 truly new songs. They also slowed down the tunes and made it seem heavily influenced by Vampire Weekend's orchestration. I'm just shocked to see everyone adoring the album, that's all.

they'll let anyone in if the crowd isn't that bad.

i agree that the album is very underwhelming. i loved the ep too and thought it was very promising. the songs are the ep are way better. it does seem like for the album the turned it into a vampire weekend-esque affair with the production. particularly disappointing is the album version of can you tell which used to be such a great song in it's former incarnation. i was really looking forward to the album until i saw them in coney island and was very underhelmed by their live performance and now with this album i'm lost because the squelched their potential and become something utterly generic. oh well, i suppose the kiddies will eat it up.

i haven't heard that many great reviews of the LP, but regardless the live show beats out both the EP and LP. they were fine at Siren, but obviously better in smaller venues.
Posted by Anonymous | August 19, 2008 8:35 PM
they were horrible at siren. the sound was a mess. i was a fan of the ep, but then was completely disappointed by the live show, and now the lp.

I disagree completely. I think the record is awesome. I don't really get all the vw comparisons you guys are throwing out there. Best record of the year!

How come they don't include the new drummer in their press photos?
They have
lead singer
two sting players
guitar and bass players
no drummer?
(Yes I know their original drummer/song writer died tragically, but that's no reason to exclude the new drummer)
Posted by The mom of new drummer | August 20, 2008 10:21 AM
Best record of the year? That might be a little much...they should include their new drummer as a member of the band.

Shwayze must absolutely get away from NYC and never, ever come back.....ever.
Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2008 10:45 AM
best record of the year? how bout most disappointing record of the year. these guys have potential, but production on the album is just awful.
