Anybody know what time Blonde Redhead are scheduled to go on?

Not an assumed time...like everyone saying they know Wilco was going on at 7 sharp last night (they went on at 7:35

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 2:14 PM

hey anon 2:14 shut it.
go to the show if you want
did those 35 minutes of waiting really kill
you?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 2:27 PM

Just trying to plan the night...u fucking twat cunt.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 2:30 PM

Called the Hudson River Trust-- they didnt have any specific times. Though they said doors at 6:30 and show ends at 10pm. So my guess is opener around 7:15, and BR at around 8:30.

Sorry if that's not specific enough ;) BTW, Wilco was SUPPOSED to go on at 7:10 yesterday, but held off since there was such a long line of people waiting to get in. If it weren't for the heads up from BV, I would have gotten there at 7:30 and not gotten in till 8. So thanks.

Blonde Redhead last went on sometime in 1998 and haven't really played since. Enjoy the reunion show!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 2:37 PM

he looks like flaming lips dude there. coyne.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 3:19 PM

2:43, you want a medal for being old?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 3:20 PM

Blonde Redhead = BORING.
I lost interest when they moved to 4AD Records.

Posted by Colonel K | August 14, 2008 3:24 PM

'2:43, you want a medal for being old?'

i know right? oh you saw a band ten years ago, and now you're closer to death, congratulations.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 3:26 PM

Re: 2:43, you want a medal for being old?

No. Those were incredible shows full stop. Slogan/Limited Conversation was a great 7". That was 1998, that's all. I've just not seen or heard them best what went on a decade earlier. Touch & Go captured their best...4AD signed the myth.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 3:41 PM

last time i went to pier 54, admittedly 2 years ago, they were bunch of uptight asshole security people there (dont stand, dont walk in the aisle, dont dance, dont take pictures) bullshit. I hope things have changed since then...

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 3:48 PM

first commenter gets railed on for asking a simple question.

classic BV cunts in full effect...

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:10 PM

Blonde Redhead are supposed to go on at 8:00.

Posted by TWB | August 14, 2008 4:20 PM

If you saw Fugazi in 1998... that means your old?
If that is old to you... you have no business engaging in intelligent conversation regarding music. Wait a second... this is BV... what am i thinking? Carry on with being kiddie smart-ass know-nothings!

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:27 PM

Yes that means your old. I was 9 in 1998.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:35 PM

If you were 9 in 1998 than who gives a fuck about what you have to say? You're a naive baby. Go suck your mother's tits.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:37 PM

That kinda explains all the stupid ass comments that fill this blog everyday.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:40 PM

People who were 9 in 1998 know nothing. That is all.

Posted by grandpa | August 14, 2008 4:41 PM

you're all a bunch of fucking douchebags. keep your precious hipster mouths shut or i'll fuck you until you love me.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:46 PM

It's going to pour.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:47 PM

Raining. Show cancelled maybe?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 4:59 PM

BV -- could you please let us know if this is cancelled? Supposed to storm all night...

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 5:06 PM

i saw blonde readhead once, i think it was at siren and the girls boob was falling out of her dress.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 5:11 PM

hey BV whats the average age on this site? im guessing 19 is not far off...

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 5:15 PM

First, "I was 9 in 1998" translates to "on Brooklyn Vegan, the ass leads the head."

Second, stop referring to "hipsters." The very notion died the moment it was uttered in relation to Williamsburg. Williamsburg is now home to post-college excess: give me my gourmet copy, my free copy of Arthur and tips on where the next Dan Deacon show is going to be.

Total herd mentality.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 5:23 PM

well I was gonna cycle there but not a fucking hope in hell of that happening now. I've not seen blonde redhead since 1996 (blonde redhead, the warmers & the cold cold hearts) but I prefer the last few albums. does that mean everyone hates me now?

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 5:26 PM

yes

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 5:29 PM

As of now---show is still on.

Posted by TWB | August 14, 2008 5:38 PM

Mother Nature is a woman of loose morals. Putting the WET in Wet Hot American Summer.

BR will make Tito's best ever Pool Party shortlist. Much better than when they opened for Interpol.

Posted by Tito | August 14, 2008 5:48 PM

(I hear the sound of marching feet...
down Bedford Avenue to Greenpoint
and there at the Salvation Army, we are confronted with a vast quantity of plastic people...)

Take a day and walk around!
Watch the Nazis run your town!
Then go home and check yourself!
You think we're singing 'bout someone else!

But you're Plastic People
Oh, Baby, now
You're such a drag

[apologies Frank Zappa]

anon 2:39. the Make Up...that's a blast from the relatively recent past, haven't thought about them in a long time.
Here's to hoping the NYU people put on some good shows this year. . . last years' were ok, was disappointed by the Mystery concert in the beginning of the year - Ted Leo????? ugh. Hopefully this year will be as amazing as Animal Collective + ghostface

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 7:05 PM

Has this show been canceled?

Posted by pants | August 14, 2008 7:21 PM

Anon 5:23 - Go piss up a flagpole, it's easy to throw misconstrued generalizations around when you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Your pathetic "insights" into billyburg are no better or worse than the idiot who mentioned hipsters, so do us all a favor and just kill yourself. You hypocritical asscork.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2008 10:00 PM

way to wait outside for three hours for a show tht never happened.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 1:16 AM

blah blah blah.....does everyone forget the blonde redhead show at the pool? long fucking line...boring fucking set....they use to be better, as the fellow who saw them in 1998 mentioned...all the whippersnappers on the board can just deal with the fact that they missed many bands in their prime.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 1:41 AM

Ill bet the kiddies saying oh great your old because you saw them a decade ago wear some mean bandanas round their necks.Yes its true their were better bands then. These sheepish smart ass young original kids wouldnt know real genuine music if it crawled up their panda bear tight pants.Besides Blonde Redhead sounded like sonic youth the first two albums. Not much is very original to say the least coming out of the brooklyn except for a few hand full of bands. I saw fugazi in 92 but who cares. God I hope I never waste 5 minutes on this shit again. But theirs a lot of shit blogs in NYC.

Posted by kno | August 15, 2008 4:43 AM

Blonde Redhead gets better and better with every album.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 6:07 AM

Cancelled.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 7:58 AM

Was it canceled? I took a look at the long line and the weather and decided to head to a bar instead.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:03 AM

yes, it was.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:16 AM

the organizers suck. even security was complaining that they weren't telling them anything and they just started telling people to go home because they just felt so bad that the organizers were making everyone stand out in the rain for nothing.

shame on you organizers.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:19 AM

You mean these organizers:

info@hrpt.state.ny.us

That's the email foreal. Bombard, people, bombard!

Posted by Tito | August 15, 2008 10:39 AM

who exactly organized this? i agree -- i don't think they were telling security anything, and it looked like they were just as unhappy to be there as were the people waiting in line not knowing a thing.

who does booking for the river rocks shows? they really should be ashamed, not to mention making the band look really, really bad.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 10:44 AM

After the show, they made everyone leave through the same exit. What exactly was the point of making everyone cross the street at 14th? That was really annoying.

Posted by Aaron | August 15, 2008 11:14 AM

i agree. the band looks REALLY really awful for making us all wait out in the rain for three hours getting soaked in a torrential deluge all for nothing.

the organizers? what organizers? there was no organizers at all. the guards did seem just as miserable as all of us waiting in line.

Everyone involved has a lot of making up work to do.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 11:14 AM

ALL WET. thanks for NOTHING blonde redhead.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 11:16 AM

was this show cancelled? or did it go on after the rain stopped? wasn't there a 10pm curfew? I left the line shortly before 8 for dryer pastures.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 11:19 AM

Sorry, I meant after the show was *cancelled* they made everyone cross at 14th Street.

Posted by Aaron | August 15, 2008 11:30 AM

you mean drier.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 11:31 AM

BAHAHAHAH, this is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. this is what you all get for being annoying hipsters. The god of self-righteous hipster rich kid karma finally got you! bhahahahaha

Posted by BahaBAHHA | August 15, 2008 12:57 PM

Hey guys...advice...if it's pouring rain...don't go to an outdoor show...especially if it's a FREE show.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2008 1:06 PM

i was 13 in 1998.

middle school sucked

Posted by nick | August 15, 2008 1:38 PM
