Part of the Weekend Never Dies (Soulwax @ Ola Festival)
Soulwax

Soulwax announced a new string of North American tour dates that start at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza (again) on October 24th! No tickets yet, but it looks like it will be part of CMJ. As of right now all the US shows are listed as Soulwax-only performances (not 2ManyDJs) (as indicated by the "SW" after every date) (see below).

If you haven't seen Soulwax before and didn't catch them when they were here earlier this month I strongly recommend checking them out in October. They perform live electronic music like no one I've ever seen before and their show at Irving was the best I've been to this year. Don't let this funny YouTube clip fool you...

It was a pretty great show, but it was only an hour long, which was a bit disappointing.

I will be doing my ecstasy earlier this time around.

is it the same set they've been playing for a couple years? have they added new songs?

Posted by curious | August 27, 2008 10:30 AM

They played covers of remixes they had done (which they had not done at Coachella last time I saw them). They included Get get Innocuous, Robot Rock and one more I am forgetting. I was a great hour...but it was only an hour.

Last show at Irving was dope! Only wish it had been longer than an hour. And who knows what happened to the 2manyDJ's set that was supposed to go down. The Irving people were pretty quick to shoo everyone outta there earlier than expected. Hopefully that won't happen at this one. It's a Friday night, that might help.

So how long was there last show at Irving?

Posted by Fat Cock | August 27, 2008 10:48 AM

Bob...another remix they did was Gravity's Rainbow by Klaxons.

I was so happy by the end of the hour I didn't care/notice that it was only an hour.

I really loved the addition of the remixes (they really brought them to life) but definitely wouldn't mind a longer show from them next time around with more Nite Versions (or older) stuff, but I'll take what I can get :)

they also played a live version of their remix of Justice, Phantom pt. 2

Forgot about Justice....it had that killer break towards the end of the song that they milked the hell out of.
