holy shit. hands down the best show i have seen all summer and top 5 all time. seriously. they absolutely killed it. sooo much energy. the crowd was into it. the weather was perfect. the sound was great. a nice long set. mix of old and new and some AMAZING changeups. at one point it almost sounded like they were laying techno - very cool effet. phew. what a show
Where were you? I was in the back and the sound was awful. Love the band, and they were great. A lot of fun, but the ring from the kick drum was drowning out so many things ...
yes. tapes n tapes sucked. if only because they were blown out of the fuckin water by black keys. just shows how big a divide is between those two bands talentwise.
"Where were you? I was in the back and the sound was awful. Love the band, and they were great. A lot of fun, but the ring from the kick drum was drowning out so many things"
WRONG. the sound was fucking perfect. get there earlier.
Yeah, that house music before the Keys was great too. Like a lot of old school Funk and Soul. But Ive been searching for it from the lyrics I can remember, go nuffin so far.
i am no where near from where these pictures came from, nor am i anywhere near seeing The Black Keys again, but couldn't NOT somehow mention how fantastic these pictures are.

Typical dumbass comment. Glad I already got to talk to someone about else about it. I was standing where I wanted to be and got there when I wanted to.
Black Keys kicked ass. Sound at the pool, ya never know.
wow just love these pics, nice link of Dan playung the Firebird, he only played the SG on this one and other guitar wich i didnt recognize...great show!
Look, I love these guys as much as anybody and I'm sure the concert was as great as any of the several Keys concerts that I've been to, but the "Rave Review" from the New York Times was anything but a rave review. I'm a little disappointed that the Keys would call it that -- there's a reason why they couldn't use any complete sentences from the article in their quotes. They soundbited the thing worse than politicians. Again, they are one of my favorite bands, but let's not gloat about rave reviews that we didn't get. I saw them in Pittsburgh shortly after this show and I'm sorry to say that I agree with most of the Times' review.
great pics...looks like fun.

I am absolutely amazed this didnt sell out. or did it eventually sell out? it was pretty packed by the time the keys went on.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 1:37 PM

this show was fucking awesome. they didn't dick around, they came to play. thats what they did. its amazing that much sound comes from 2 guys.
Patrick killed the drums and Dan shredded the guitar. enough said.

Posted by Rick | August 12, 2008 3:34 PM
it's best to try to get there earlier and stand near the center, so the sound won't sound too bad. it was great though, the sound.
