Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:41 PM

the will berman thing is still a little funny

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:49 PM

a boredoms event without the boredoms, with fucking nike sweatshop money pouring out of its ass, people are psyched for this?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:50 PM

Yeah no boredoms but I'm going to go anyway. It just won't be the same as last year but it's free. Why not.

Posted by strfkr | August 7, 2008 3:56 PM

people just want to see all 3 parts and labor drummers on the same stage.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:56 PM

Ryan Sawyer and John Lockie that I see are first class, but there's a few non-drummers on this list, like Samara Lubelski, Noah Lennon, Matt Heyner... I would say this will be pretty meh...

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:57 PM

Noah Lennox (Panda Bear / Animal Collective)!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:57 PM

i mean even without boredoms this will still be cool. Its a bunch of talented drummers playing a piece, and it's free. Whats to complain about?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:28 PM

just go see some talentless pseudo hippie/ghetto-boho drum circle jagoffs in union square or the subway platorm

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:39 PM

"I can't wait for AMNBA to come along and tell us how bad this will be.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 3:41 PM"

Why do you need to me to tell you this fact. You can look at the lineup and know this. Or you can see the many other commenters above me saying the exact same thing. But yes this will not be very good. Certainly not what the original was.

I mean I went to the Salvador Dali museum in Spain to see his original works and it was amazing. I also saw a couple of lithographs and replicas in NYC once and they were nice but obviously not like seeing the originals.

There ya go fuckface Anon 3:41. Go shove it up your ass.

Posted by A Manhattan Not Brooklyn Asshole | August 7, 2008 4:41 PM

I'm getting in line now

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:43 PM

does anyone know where this is?
i don't know the area well
but got tix.

as for the whiners:
it's a free art event in the city.
don't go if you don't want to
what is th beef?

so anybody got directions info?

cheers

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:43 PM

Too bad you didn't get wiped out by an ETA bomb whilst you were in Spain, AMNBA.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:48 PM

this is going to be fucking lame. lamer than santos party house. lamer than that manhattan not brooklyn dork. lame. lame fucking hippies. fuck you all and most of all fuck that montauk monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:54 PM

Unlike last year, you will need a ticket to get in. Sorry kids, but otherwise you're SOL.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 4:56 PM

hey manhattan assdildo, good to see you enjoyed dali's a-m-a-z-i-n-g, overrated, dumbed-down-surrealist junk. if there's an artist whose work doesn't lose much when replicated, it's dali and his flat, superficial paintings.

Who are the chumps willing to pay $25 a ticket on craigslist for this?

Who are the assholes asking for $40 a ticket on craigslist for this?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 5:49 PM

^^^ dan deacon. coincidentally its been confirmed dan deacon is the montauk monster. discuss

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 5:53 PM

Any chance they're pulling the same shit as last year with over-distributing tickets? I ordered mine like a week after the whole world knew about it, and that makes me think they released a hell of a lot more than are going to fit in the waterfront.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 6:15 PM

I don't know. This should work like Sonic Youth on the 4th. I haven't seen any appeals to show up early or that a ticket does not guarantee entry.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 6:18 PM

Last year you only had to RSVP, and I think they allowed 12,000 RSVP's for 4,000 capacity. Obviously that didn't work, which is why they are doing the tickets this year.

The concept of this event has been cheapened.

The LA show is going to be better than the NY one

Posted by Sam Vander | August 7, 2008 10:15 PM

Anonymous August 7, 2008 3:57 PM

first, it's lennox and second, he drums for animal collective

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2008 11:45 PM

LA has better weather, too.

But NY has better museums.

gee, I wonder how long we could play this game...

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:52 AM

11:45pm : First, it's Noah Lennox and he goes by the moniker Panda Bear when is credited as "Drums" but also plays other instruments and sings in Animal Collective, and as a solo artist on his release "Person Pitch". Read up before you sound like an asshole, asshole.

And 3:57pm, I as well am looking forward to seeing Noah Lennox drum

Matt Sweeney can suck my dick.

Posted by Robert Pollard | August 8, 2008 9:45 AM

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 9:47 AM

Some people will wait in line for hours and hours and not get in, maybe even you.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 9:50 AM

And others will just cut the line

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 11:34 AM

Is there going to be a satellite simulcast going on with the LA event? I hope the latency isn't a problem.

Posted by the great satan | August 8, 2008 11:58 AM

what happens if it rains?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:31 PM

I wish these guys would show up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L8lVLcfJ0s

They would blow away those talentless pseudo hippie/ghetto-boho drum circle jagoffs monkeys.
