Les Slip n Slide @ McCarren Pool - Aug 3, 2008 (by Bill Pearis)
Tim Harrington
Tim Harrington

Just like on July 9, 2006 when Les Savy Fav played the first concert at McCarren Pool, indie rock barber Tim Harrington could be found trying out the slip-n-slide (this time with his child) at today's Black Lips / Deerhunter / King Khan show. More coverage of today's Pool Party coming soon...

From the pictures, it doesn't look like today was crowded at all despite the beautiful day

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 9:30 PM

it was full, but nowhere near MGMT crowded.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 9:50 PM

awww! his kid is adorable.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 9:53 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 10:02 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 10:10 PM

"is this fucking faggot everywhere?"

used to be a time when, in the right sort of indie/punk environment, a person pejoratively calling someone a "faggot" would get his teeth punched down his throat all the way out of his ass.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 10:26 PM

I don't understand how anyone could possibly care about this.

king khan shared the stage with tim harrington and space and time collapsed. then we saw his donger.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2008 11:22 PM

yes as harrington was introducing deerhunter, king khan unzipped harringtons pants and pulled his penis out and dumped it in a cup of water, or dumped water on it, then basically harrington stood there with his (very small)dick out.. also king khan showed his pubes during his set own set, and pulled his pants down and mooned the audience during deerhunter set.
make of it what you will.
I though basically Black Lips will have to piss in their mouths to top this shit, but that didnt happen.
Some guy heckled Brandon Cox and called his band an REM covers band, Brandon got rattled and had a sort of conversation with this guy from the stage, told him something like I dont have to explain my poetry to you. overall good show, but i believe doors were never shut, so not as full as expected.

tim on the slip and slide is much more entertaining than black lips.

waaah! he doesn't look like someone on television!

Fun show,
damn hot and There's no such thing as a water fountain there! No tap water, no free water, either $2 water or beer. Is Jelly NY trying to kill us?
Isn't that illegal?
I remember something a few years back about some festival maybe Glastonbury having to have free water.
You could sneak water in (if security didn't search your bag) or leave and come back. (and hopefully get back in)

I have more thoughts on the show, but figured I'd wait till the photos start flooding in.
Will there be photos of
A. Bananas?
B. King Kahn holding his balls after getting smacked by a banana?
C. Deerhunter standing around?
D. Deerhunter's cheerleader guitar player
E. Toilet paper or pillow fluff?
F. the dog playing with the Black Lips.
G. King Kahn doing something funny/crazy
H. sexist pics of girls in bikinis
I. King Khan as Duffy?

"nobody said that..."

Maybe someone DID post that ("is this fucking faggot everywhere?") and BV deleted it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2008 3:18 AM

3:18 -- yep. Saw it among the comments. I don't support comment deletion -- i say let it all stay out there, a true mirror to our good/bad/ugly, and let the community regulate how it wishes vs. outright censoring -- but that was among the more delete-worthy things I've seen on BV.

Posted by insomniacky | August 4, 2008 4:18 AM

be careful, last time i questioned bv's censoring i got shit on.

oh my god so cute.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2008 10:40 AM

those aren't khakis, that's a diaper!

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2008 10:41 AM

this appears to be a kidnapping. does he have papers for that kid? did anyone check?

Posted by Tim Duffy | August 4, 2008 10:44 AM

i saw him in bburg with the same kid. didnt know it was him. my friend kept saying, 'it's the guy from laissez faire!' obviously didnt ring a bell.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2008 11:07 AM

i totally care about this! he ran past us and we were like "IS THAT ... " adorable.

Posted by heidi vanderslice | August 4, 2008 11:21 AM

for some reason it seems unnatural that his child isn't fully bearded and balding.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2008 12:06 PM

Kidnapper wearing khakis? Some one ring the amber alert!
