The National is great, but trust me, you don't want to miss Eddie Vedder solo if you can help it.
Just trying to be helpful.

I just saw Into The Wild. The move was pretty bad as it was, Eddie Vedder's music just made it even cheesier.

Working backwards, if the show ends at 10 as advertised I'd guess:
P&A - 7:00
Yeasayer - 7:45
The National - 8:45
But seriously - none of these sets should be missed so just get your dirty ass there at 6:30.

tomorrow night: yohimbe brothers at le poisson rouge. being billed as "An electronica world music mash-up group, with elements of salsa, Brazilian, American disco, R&B and black rock surrounded by turntable manipulations, samples and loops. The perfect example of the next phase of North American 23rd-century pop music." sweet.

Holy crap, was that The National show terrible. The band was decent, but you could barely hear them from due to all the Ivy Leaguers who show up just to talk amongst themselves the whole time.
Half the crowd was sitting for opener Yeasayer, and most of these fools weren't even looking at the stage when Yeasayer was playing. I don't know if these folks got free tickets or what, but I paid $35 to see a show in quite possibly the worst atmosphere ever.
I really don't get why people like this even show up for shows. Instead of listening to music, they just show up and act as if it is a giant social event where you are supposed to talk and drink the whole time.

Pants, I guess all those people weren't invited to the "Welcome Home" shindig Bloomberg threw for Hillary.

You stand in the back, that is the sort of crap you end up with. At this point, unfortunately, that is to be expected at nearly every bigger (Bowery Presents venues) show. Some jackass at the i-bank firm says "Check out this neat song Green Gloves" and this happens. Anyway, you can hear the band much better towards the front. The frat boys crowd near the back to be closer to the beer lines and better able to talk over the music. But you knew that.

I was up front and no one was talking. It was really nice. The only issue I had was the guy singing in my ear. Despite that, it was a good show.
