Radiohead trumps all. All the haters just can't afford the ticket price.

I really want to see GO Team but I don't think I can survive 12 hours of this...
Probably around 5 in time for Pornographer and Grizzly Bear.
CSS to Underworld to Girl Talk to RAdiohead should be Bananas!
Too bad it will still be light out when Undeworld takes the stage.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:02 PM
Im trying to get to the show at 3:45 to catch Michael Franti and Spearhead. Todays lineup is alright- tomorrow will be a lot better.
Posted by SVRD | August 8, 2008 12:02 PM
Dude... I can afford it. But $90 to see Radiohead and a few other bands I've seen a bunch of times in better venues is outrageous.
Maybe if APW had some decent headliners... Radiohead should play BEFORE a headliner.
Posted by wembley | August 8, 2008 12:02 PM
maybe radiohead isn't worth 100 bucks to be in a crowded rainy field
i had a FREE ticket and I'm not working today
but i still feel like it's going to be a real pain in the ass
for what?
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:03 PM
Anyone with half a brain would pay $100+ to see Radiohead play a 2.5 hour festival show.
So... STFU.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:05 PM
underworld & radiohead, leaving work at 4:30. sunday is worthless.

Did anyone see this in the FAQ section on the APW website about cameras:
"What are considered professional cameras and professional digital cameras?
Any camera with a removable lens will be considered a professional camera, and will not be allowed on the festival grounds."
Anyone else taking a DSLR? I think it's really uneducated that they would consider all of the entry, consumer-level cameras "professional" just because they have a removable lens. That's crazy. I wanted to take one (it's my only camera), but am worried they're going to either a) not let me in or b) force me to leave it behind to take it in. And now I'm left with the decision to chance it, or go and not have any photos to bring back with me.
That's a pretty wide swath to cut, saying any camera with a removable lens will be considered professional and will not be allowed in.

"maybe all the haters think Radiohead isn't that great."

no, they (i) think that radiohead is a half-decent band with an annoyingly whiny lead singer who chews his consonants and over-articulates his vowels. seriously, the guy sounds like he's munching on a double mac w/ cheese every time he opens his mouth to sing.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:17 PM
im not going to see radiohead this year, but ive seen them 12 times already. not an issue of affording it or hating ..
12:17 you shut your goddamn pie hole.
radiohead = amazing

i fucked your mom in 98 and now I'm kinda over her

Radio who?

"just got an apw ticket on craigslist for $20. that's about what it's worth. (friday show)."
Yea...you're probably the same guy who would pay $20 to see Dan Deacon, VW, or some garbage like that....and think it was better than seeing Radiohead
Radiohead alone is worth $90 alone....
please stay away from true Radiohead and music lovers....

funny to see how radiohead fans get all insulted when they realize not everyone thinks the sun shines out of their darlings' overdramatic asses...

@12:16 - Yeah seeing that radiohead has 7 albums now and you saw them when they had just 3 out? Since they totally havnt accomplished anything since OK Computer, I guess you're right, I shouldnt be excited to see them.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:41 PM
we were just talking about this, this band is about 10 years past the prime. watch, after this tour is over the fandom will drop off dramatically. does anyone still think this last album was actually any good? I literally had to force myself to watch that 1 hour special. No good ideas left in that bag of tricks.
and yes I do think Dan Deacon right now is better than Radiohead.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 12:46 PM
Probably quite a few Radiohead fans passing up on these shows. A few reasons:
- Fans don't want to wade through a dozen other bands to hear Radiohead.
- Fans don't want to hear music in a large field with 50,000 other people.
- Transportation and weather issues pertaining to this festival.
- Radiohead toured 2 years ago in smaller venues playing much of the same songs that appeared on their latest disc.
- The new Radiohead record is good, but perhaps not their best. It's also been out for a while, so some of the buzz is lost.
imho - Radiohead are worth big money -- when playing in the proper (indoor) venue.

For the last time, it's not 50,000 people
It's 20,000/day at APW. Where did you even get the 50,000 figure? Is there some hipster bulletin of misinformation that you all apply to?

this fest should have been called "point way the fuck out of the way"
this would have been so much better/more fun if they held it in Central Park, Prospect Park, Flushing Meadows for gods sakes! this path/ferry shit is stressing me out. in retrospect I should have got stooges tickets and ditched this fest, but good luck getting face value, not gonna happen.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 1:01 PM
to 12:17's comment, i'm a radiohead fan (not going to APW), but i still have a sense of humor and laughed at this. i mean, come on it's pretty imaginative (& perhaps even a little true)!
also, 12:48 - amen. i couldn't have put the reasons why i'm not going better myself.
this won't even scratch the surface of LSP 2001 anyway & everyone knows that.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 1:13 PM
anyone who takes radiohead over the stooges is a lost cause.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 1:15 PM
What do they do if it rains at BoaDrum? I can't imagine 88 people playing in a downpour would be very good.
Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2008 1:16 PM
Anon 12:46 - re: Dan Deacon over Radiohead
You are so heavily immersed in the hipster trash realm that I'm not even going to attempt to attack your statements. I'd never kick a man when he's lying on the floor, lost and helpless. That said, you are a pathetic human being.
